The incorrect use of the word “myself”.
The term “myself” denotes a person doing something on their own. So, “I presented the session myself” is correct because “myself” should only be used reflexively as a reference to me on my own as the subject earlier in the sentence.
It is incorrect to say “myself and Dave will be presenting the session”. “Dave and I...” or even “Me and Dave...” are both correct; “Myself and Dave” or “Dave and myself” are not correct.
“Self isolate” is another one, and this has been rife over the last year.
You’re self isolating, are you? Are you also “angry cross”, “fatigued tired” and “fed-up bored”?
If you’re isolating, of course you’ll be doing it by yourself.
“Self partnered” is a new term that’s cropped up. How the fuck can you be partnered with yourself? A partner means people engaged together in the same activity. You can’t partner anything on your own.
