Words you hate?

The newer ones like gammon, snowflake and woke aren’t great. Then there are the neo-classics such as banter, bantz innit and the like.
 
Not so much a word, more of a sentence…

I hate it when people say they’re “going down to…[somewhere]” when they’re travelling North to it.

You only go down to somewhere if you’re travelling South to it. You go up to Edinburgh from Manchester, over to Hull from Manchester and down to London from Manchester.
 
Any of those "quirky" insult words that boring middle-aged women on Facebook use to show what a character they are.

Cockwomble, spunktrumpet, all that shite.
 
Like, you know what I mean like.
I don’t half hate the overuse of the word “like”.

For example, “there are like twenty houses down our street” “I had my tea at like six o’clock”… just, NO!

but I do say “d’you know what I mean like?”
