I was making the point that @aguero93:20 and I have been discussing about those decisions needing to be taken out of the hands of the referee and have exacting punishments based on VAR review.

The current implementation of VAR does little to address the problematic influence of referee decision-making that allows for incorrect/suspect outcomes, the very thing VAR is meant to combat (either due to the officials not seeing the incident partially or fully).
