thought id start a betting thread for the world cup. People can come here and say what bets theyve placed or suggestions whether its for golden boot,out right winner of tournament,best odds etc.if ppl wanna use it then bril mayb even have it as a sticky as i dont think there will be much to talk about bar the world cup but if not mods please delete.

the first bet im putting on is this accumulator

germany win v aus
england win v usa
slovenia win v algeria
argentina beat nigeria

25 quid gets you 200 back,not bad imo

Well I went for Argentina to win the World Cup. Also put a sneaky little bet on Robhino to be top scorer. Runs for cover with tin hat on.

I think it started out at 40/1 but when I backed it he was only at 33/1 good lot of money has gone on him in the last few weeks.

Totesport are going 2/1 for South Africa just to qualify from their group, and that has to be value. In 18 previous World Cups NO host nation has failed to qualify for the second round. That has included qualification for the likes of Mexico (twice), Chile, Switzerland, Sweden and USA when they have been hosts. Even when the World Cup was shared between the minnows of Japan and South Korea BOTH of them got out of their groups.

I see them sneaking through in second place and going out honourably to Argentina, job done.
