England should just hire a modern coach in the Pochettino mould and select a squad full of technically decent and young energetic players who can press like Southampton. We have better individual talent than Costa Rica, but look at how energy + work ethic + tactics has benefited them. Bryan Ruiz is their captain FFS and is nothing special as an individual.

I was actually pleased at the appointment of this last England manager (which isn't usually my gut reaction) but results have not gone for us, and that can happen sometimes... I'd rather see Dyke sacked before our England manager, although if anyone's going to get consideration for the job I'd like to see Manciti given thought - he's got the mentality and he's done wonders with teams he's been given the reigns to; it would be interesting to see what he'd do with an England set-up, very interesting.
