So the fact that he was unsighted, and the fact it took a deflection has nothing to with it ?

VAR - superficially desirable.
VAR in the W/C - overall, seems to be working well.
VAR in the near future - AI will eventually supplant referees.
Officiating in the distant future - AI will do it all.

I think we are seeing how VAR can be used for fixing outcomes. No review of offside and detailed review of dubious handball. Not saying it is fixed but the decision of what to review and what not to review has decided this final so far
