World Cup VAR

I've come to the conclusion that the lack of English referees at the World Cup is part of the anti-English, Eurovison Song Contest, Anti-Anti-Brexit Conspiracy centred in some back office in Brussels. I started this World Cup under the impression from FICKFUFA that 'foreign' refs were more competent. Having seen some of the performances I conclude they're all execrable!

Who doesn't want it now?
I must admit to changing my mind on it having being Vary against it based on previous uses of it. I still have reservations about how it will be open to be abused but then again i firmly believe football is corrupt anyway....

It's weird how many are against VAR.

It has been brilliant at this World Cup. Without it Spain would have gone out (wrongly) and Germany might well have stayed (wrongly) based on the original decisions.

The only really wrong decision was the pen against Portugal - which was down to the referee rather than the technology and sums up exactly why we need VAR across the board.

Also as someone said above, at least you know what the decision as given for and the referee has the view everyone else has.

Just watched the 1st Korea goal against Germany and if anything the VAR added to the drama and excitement. T

Just to clarify something. Does the ref has to ask for a VAR referral with his headset, or can the blokes upstairs take the initiative directly to warn him if they think he's got something badly wrong?
The lads upstairs review everything so there's no reason for the ref to ask for a VAR referral.
