World Cup VAR

You'll be crying like fuck if England go out the same way.

The person initiating the foul is the offender. They already have precedent for that on penalty incidents starting inside/outside the box (it doesn't suddenly change if the player being fouled pushes back) but yet again, they have dodged their own laws because of v.a.r. and nobody gives a fuck

I’d be crying like fuck if we have a stonewall penalty given because a Ref takes a guess. How can that be preferable ?

Yes a few incidents of shirt pulling haven’t been picked up on. But fuck me, how many incidents have. Neymar embarrassing dive would have been given as a penalty! It’s a joke you would accept that.

Already in a couple weeks it has improved, the speed which VAR gives to ref has greatly improved. It will all get better and more consistent.

Neville is sort of right, it can be manipulated in favour of certain teams. But, we probably have that already with our current system of three officials, we see dodgy decisions every week in the prem. VAR this World Cup has made so many correct decisions. Without it, we’d still be having arguement because of an offside goal being given, like we do nearly every weekend when watching a prem game.

No, it's been inconsistent when used but as the laws are not set in stone, the ref gets to choose what constitutes a foul and thus is always right .

Again, you've highlighted how bad the old system is, but won't give the new system a chance. Bizarre way of thinking for me...

Perfect example.

Statistically, we will probably end up the biggest winners of v.a.r.

With 25, 5th goal v.a. r. decisions. But get knocked out of both cups & the Champs Lg on v.a.r.
I find it a bit strange that after witnessing the way we've been treated by the PIGMOL fuckers, so many city fans think VAR will change it for the better. Better for some teams, but we won't be one of them.

I haven't seen any great evidence of Neymar pens using v.a.r.

I saw a Ronaldo red card ignored & a whole bunch of rugby tackles. England should have had about 5 pens & Spain several today. One blatant shirt pull earlier didn't even get a mention.

Apparently now if you foul back after being fouled, you lose the first foul= new rule for today.

Again, that happens with the existing system, so why not give VAR A chance?? Illogical....

You may well be right.... but, as you have highlighted the old system is terrible. So why not give VAR A chance to see if it improves things. It may not and we may have to admit defeat. But sure worth a chance, having seen what we've seen with the old system, no?

Can I spell this out once and for all ?

Imo the ref & his team currently have one avenue of cheating & if they make it too obvious, they may get called out on it.

With v.a.r. I believe they have 4 chances to cheat & if they are too embarrasingly bent, they can change the obviously corrupt decision back, be hailed as being excellent, then fuck you over with a more marginal one later.

They have been perfect v.a.r. has been perfect, you have been shafted up the arse

We'll have to give it a chance because it's coming soon and there's a slim chance I'm wrong. I'm prepared for the bent shambles and matchday thread implosion though.

The current system means refs can cheat. So does VAR, but that’s down to the officials, not the system.

They are though. Any holding is a foul, and should result in a direct free kick. The VAR referee bottled it, or worse.

Ah yes, but what happens if it's not 'holding' but shirt pulling & what happens if, after being held, you then hold the assailant yourself ?

You & I know, the player who holds first, has committed a foul there & then, so what happens next doesn't matter.

But now, when presented with those facts, everyone on UK tv says it's not a foul, because the victim fought back after being fouled.

When it happens again to England, the same people will say the exact opposite.

Totally,disagree.. current system allows ref to say I didn't see it properly, a complete get out of jail card. And there's absoloutly no come back from that. Game over

The VAR system takes this away completely.... we've already seen refs sent home for not applying the process correctly.
