Not sure Holden was the worst player but I wasn’t half gutted when Reid sold Michael Hughes, talked up Figo and got him instead!

Wayne Bridge by a country mile. Flattered to deceive but was a winger’s dream. Guided attackers towards goal rather than away and invited them to score rather than brave any form of tackle.

But my memory of him is eclipsed by Margetson. Indirect free kick. Hold the ball Martin. Or instead why not drop it to Mike Sherin for him to pass for an immediate goal - relegation loomed large. He must be some coach to get the gig he has ( most likely with a mantra “ do as I say, not what I did”!!)

Carl Shutt for me. Will never forget him getting outpaced by an old Brian Kilcline on New Years day 1994 stood on the open terrace at Newcastle. Doubt there was 1k of City there and the highlight was a conga to keep warm.

I was there, Christ that game was a shocker, did we lose 1-0 - erased it from memory. Shutt certainly had a typo in his name
