Worst ever night watching City?

The 4-3 against Sunderland when Hughes got sacked, was so annoyed at how the club went about the sacking, went to a party later and had a rag come over and gloat. Safe to say i went home after 10 minutes of that party, even angrier than before, remember getting home and smashing a mug. Never been so annoyed at city. Ever

Can't think of many that haven't already been mentioned. Surprised in reading the first few pages nobody mentioned that LDV game against Mansfield though, I wasn't present but it couldn't have been a good night that one.

The night they only opened the Kippax?! I know going out to Mansfield is a bit tragic but you can hardly call the LDV Trophy a priority when we needed promotion at the first attempt.

Losing at home to Bury 1-0, knew we were going down, just couldn't see any way we'd get out of our downward spiral.

Wasn't a night match, sorry mate. Choose again.

The away game at Gigg was though. And that wasn't great either, other than some dazzling skills from Gio.

3-2 defeat at home to the mighty oxford united in about 1997, Andy Dibble was shocking that night, then again stockport away when we went 3 nil down with kit symons was bad, infact there's been a few all coming flooding back to me now

i was at that chelsea away in the milk cup too, pissed it down for most of the game and the stand we were in had no roof

there was a few more than 200 there, nearer 400, i'd say 1/2 were lads, seem to remember we tried to invade the pitch at one point. for some reason i can't remember how we got down to the ground but i do remember the police escorting us to the tube stn so it might have been the train.

also went to the jim tolmie game the previous season. remember how i went to that one, yelloways 'luxury' coach from Midd. got down to london and the driver didn't know where stamford bridge was (typical yelloways at the time), so we're driving alongside the thames and stopped the coach to ask this guy who was walking his dog for directions. so the guy (and his dog) get on the bus and stay with us all the way to the ground. chelsea away was a bit of a nightmare in those days but no headhunter touched us with this guy and his chiwawa (sp) leading us!!!

worst city performance was newcastle away (83-84??) we lost 5-0 when it was us, newc, chelsea & weds going for promotion. alex williams was in goal and even tho' he conceded 5 his performance that day was one of the best i've ever seen from a city goalkeeper. got back to the coach after the game and all the windows along one side had been put through (yelloways again), long & cold journey home.

oops, just noticed the title is worst 'night'. ok, hull city away full members cup semi final, got beat but that cup didn't mean a great deal, it was the journey home that made it the worst - we got back to the car after the game, started to drive home and realised could only use 1st & 2nd gears, still came home on the m62 but had to keep stopping to refill the engine with oil, i know, i know, should have gone with yelloways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of horrible results to consider. I will opt for an Third Round FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury in 1965. It was towards the end of the George Poyser era as manager.

I can't remember the details other than that I got in for free after the gates at the Gay Meadow were not secure and we piled through. City were abysmal and lost to a Third Division team.

The real sickener was on the train coming back. The team were on the same football special. All the supporters were down after the poor performance. The players were not.

The team included some future legends - Neil Young, Mike Doyle, Alan Oakes, if I recall correctly - and spent the return journey apparently celebrating, smoking, drinking beer and chasing girls.

liverpool at maine road last game off th season we needed 3 points to stay in the top flight we went 2 down with in 20 mins game over but we just did are best but as you know back then it was not enough got back to 2 2 but still went down cryed me heart out i was gutted on the way home on the coach bumped in to some rag twats out side this pub me dad and my brother get off with a few blues to give it these rags and the next thing you know there all over the place me dad and are kid got hammerd they put all the window through on the coach and the twats won the title bad day to be a blue
