Keep um coming blues!!!!

Was talking to the lads at work the other day about pubs shutting on a Sunday for a few hours....think it was 3pm (last-orders), chucked out at 4pm...then back open for 7pm???
Unless of course you was drinking in one of the rough-arse pubs mentioned, and you got a cheeky lock-in : )

Not as good as that. Sunday hours were 12-2 then 7-10.30.

Seems ridiculous now thinking about now.

The Mersey Tavern closely followed by the Stockport precinct bandstand on a Saturday afternoon before it opened again at 5:30.

Was Mersey Tavern used to be called Mr Chips next to the CO-OP ? Or is it the boozer over the road from Debenhams ?

After it was called the Mersey Tavern they named it the 'The Far Pavillions' Opposite the taxi rank and as you say next to the Co-Op. Fuck knows what it's called now, last I heard it was the Chestergate Tavern. The Co-Op had an off sales counter in the precinct and hence everyone went there when kicked out at 3 o'clock.

The Buck & Dog , never went in but it was legendary rough builders pub..

In fact, just every pub in Mossley. Saddleworth can fuck off as well.

-- Mon Nov 26, 2012 10:56 pm --

Plus, everyone remembers that moment you paid more than three pound for a pint. EVERYONE.

For me, York railway station. Never been in since, the robbing bastards.

What was that pub round the corner from Whitecroft Lighting in Ashton? I used to temp there over the summer and the only thing you'd dare drink was cans of red stripe at one-fifty each. Think the Barcrest lot went in there as well. Behind the brown Plumb Centre.

Cant remember the name, but on Dalton Street in Collyhurst opposite the flats.
4 In hand on Hattersley.
The Longsight? (Down the road from the Dogs on Kirky Lane).
Any pub around Failsworth Pole 10 year ago.

Many more to come ....
