Every team has played and so far it has been a really poor week of football. I've not been entertained at all!
The vuvu-hell-as have completely ruined any atmosphere, emotion and passion from the crowds as they just make the whole 90minutes of every single game a monotone, droany, annoying borefest; there have been a fair few empty seats; there's been a lot of poor play; there have been many poor players; even so called good players have been poor; there have been few goals; there have been no spectacular goals; there has been a really negative feel to it all with most teams packing the midfield and sitting back making it hard for the opposition and, just like the Champions Lg last season, they are not entertaining tactics; the ball is shit; the altitude is making the ball worse; Robert Greens mistake; Shaun Wright-Phillips performance; Jamie fuckin Carragher; and it is the worst Brazil side in their history, which just about tops it all off for me! Did I mention there's no atmosphere!?
Absolutley shit so far!
The only positive is that everyone has left themselves a lot to do and that puts more emphasis on teams having to go and win their other group games which might make it all more entertaining!
But we still won't be able to hear the Samba atmosphere from Brazilians; the loud passion and constant singing and jumping from the Eastern Europeans; the brass bands of England and Holland; the well co-ordinated noise and singing of the Oriental nations; the colourful, tuneful singing from the other African nations etc, because of these fuckin vuvu's! Even if the quality of this tournament hots up we won't get any sense if it from the crowds cos of these fucking ridiculous horns!

-- Wed Jun 16, 2010 5:35 pm --

I agree, the games so far haven't been the best. But the main annoyance in the world cup for me is the vuvzelas, what ever they're called. I know it's a custom in african football and i know it's there country but it doesn't make an atmosphere and give encouragement to players...it's just bloody noise!! They should ban them imo.
It's not an African tradition! I work with a Zimbabwean and a Mozambeque and both if them hate the fuckin things and want rid! I listened to Five Live the other day and there was a Ghanaen on the phone saying that never have the vuvu's been a part of their football! It's just a South African thing; and it's AWFUL!!!
