Would any of our players fit into Barcelona's team ?

The players we have with the ability and the capacity to play in the current Barca side.

1. Vincent Kompany - he could play in any team he wished
2. Alex Kolarov - plays a style of this, just that we don't, intelligent player, but too often caught out by the demands of England, game appears highly suited to Spain
3. Nigel DeJong - I can't think of another in his role, defensive midfield, who currently makes game changing contributions
4. Yaya Toure - been there done it would enhance the side they have

Others mentioned, in my opinion;
Micah great athlete playing more football, not enough for Barca
Joe Hart, no way look at Valdes, there was a statistic around Valdes in the Real first leg about his individual possession think he had more than 3 or 4 Real outfield players, this is the weakest point of Joe's game and Valdes great strength Barca wouldn't be able to play in the same way without a footballing keeper
Tevez, again is he suited, I don't believe so, his game is about what he does and what others gain from his contribution again this is not the Barca way.
Lescott, still not enough of a footballer.
Silva, great footballer almost certain to be back up for the players they currently have.
Balotelli, no not the finished article and not enough of the workrate required. Ibra was considered the best at what he does at the time and Ronaldinho well, team would want his current level of contribution, hope this improves.

That said I think Kolo could play for them, decent enough footballer, probably one our better players with the ball at his feet and a defender who holds his own in the rough and tumble of the Premiership.

That said I think City versus Barca would be closer result wise than Stretford was.

On what basis. Balo makes so many elementary mistakes that get covered up by other amazing things he does in the game. Like running and eaving the ball behind, attampting exquisite passes that go horribly wrong. Poor pass decision making and delivery. Selfish one v ones. These things all seem little when you play at City, at Barcelona, they will keep you glued to the bench. You have to be able to the the basics consistently (i.e. 98% of the time correctly) before you even start doing the unnecesary. Balo would get weeded out early. Those boneheaded decisions will not be allowed. He is talented and can do amazing stuff, but his consistency is wack

mate , the balotelli you know in not the real balotelli. city's fans ATM still have to see what balo really is.

balo first touch and one touch passing are among the best in the world , or at least so have been before he come in england. balo was not joking when he sayd this year he has been shit.

I saw him make those same mistakes in Italy. He has this problem of running past the ball. I don't know how he does it, but he pushes the ball forward and runs past it. I have seen this like six times, both at City and Milan.

Tevez for Villa

I think Silva could play a part in their team

Kompany could replace Puyol

I think De-Jong could be a very useful squad player

I would 100 percent rather have Micah than Dani Alves

Utter tosh.................is anyone going to talk sense here - everyone's making themselves look silly. Micah instead of Alves - LOL.
Its no criticism of City - we're a work in progress. They are the finished artical, who've been there and seen it AND done it. Frankly, even Richards himself would laugh at that. This is a guy who cant guarantee a berth in our team and was looking like being moved on last summer. He cant get anywhere near the England set up and is totally injury prone. Potential - isnt the same thing.

No one from the City team would replace any of the Barca players. The arguement is dead.......................

Yes I know! I can' explain it. This is different from mistakes like tripping on the ball. it's like some wierd mechanism that is just off in his head :? Cant put a finger to it.

-- Thu Jun 02, 2011 10:27 pm --

I await the improved Balotelli :)

Im going to say it again, if i were manager of any team I would go out and buy Micah Richards. Great right back and better than Dani Alves in my opinion.

Been at the whisky again have we ? or are you on your weekend fishing trip ? He has had a decent second half to the season thats all, Richards cant even get in the England set up.
