When it becomes acceptable for the police to shoot suspected drug dealers it won't end there though will it ? Next it will be acceptable to shoot violent people who are drunk, how long before rowdy crowds of football fans are controlled with increased violence ?
In the City there's a thousand men in uniforms....

It does stop there though doesn't it. They shot a CONVICTED drug dealer who was a suspected murderer with intel that he had been to purchase a gun. Now only a few people know what happened but he was off his nut and told to stop but didn't. The police believed he had a gun and shot him.
That is a very rare circumstance in this country i have never seen an armed policeman at football match

It's not that rare, as this thread has pointed out it's happened twice in recent years.
So one in 65,000,000 per year. I wouldn't say it's frequent would you?

Maybe you could provide me with some estimates as to how many times it would have happened if police didn't carry guns?

Well they don't. And I wouldn't want them all to.

Think it was Stalin who said if the British started a revolution on the railways, we'd queue up to buy tickets for the platform.

It's very true, we dont have a revolutionary bone in our body. Look at the MP expenses scandal, the press inquiry and the bailout of the bankers. In any other country, that was cause mass protests. Nearest we get is someone calling an MP a wally on Question Time.

I kinda like it, look at France, always striking, always protesting and it gets them hardly anywhere.

One of the attractive things about Britain is its stability and understatement. Although sometimes you look back on the days of the fuel strikes with pride....because we made our feelings known.

Well observed post, although I reckon Stalin said that about the Germans.

Anyone who thinks that the revolution is coming will be waiting for quite a while imo. Britain was quite possibly the first European country to have a revolution - we even went to the trouble of cutting off the monarch's head in public rather than shooting him in a basement with his family, but we decided pretty soon that it wasn't for us, and in a very British way asked the son of the guy who had been beheaded if he'd like the job.

Somebody else made the point that you need the support of the middle classes to mount a successful revolution and it's going to take more than a few moans at dinner parties about the cost of childcare these days before the bourgeois are storming Buckingham Palace. It is an uncomfortable truth that most people are or consider themselves middle class these days, and on that basis the numbers don't add up for the critical mass that would be required for a revolution.

Those that haven't had a job in the last 3 years (without a valid reason) should be fucked off... The main problem is the country is far to over populated for itself, there's not enough jobs for everyone so those without jobs claim benefits to have some sort of income, apart from those who have a disability our who have been victims of the recession and companies going bust I'd say at least 60% of people claiming are asylum seekers or scrotes who just pump kids out to make an ends meet.... Fuck these 2 groups of people off I can imagine that would save the country some pound coins...

Could be the same one bellbuzzer uses.

Yes Britain can, and will eventually revolt. It will be sparked by a situation similar to the one that kicked off last years riots. It will not just be the natural common or garden criminal. It will be a mixture of riot and counter riot. Normal everyday folk who whilst protecting themselves will be carried away in the cauldron of mayhem. This will then spill over into civil unrest. Given the right conditions it will happen sooner than later. Believe me the working man is getting very close to a thats enough scenario. Those in government will shit themselves, as last years rioters will seem like naughty children.
