To each their own but personally I have never hated Rooney so I'd have absolutely no problems with him coming to us.
I've always felt that he's got more in common with us than them anyway - he's a down-to-earth lad from a humble background, a working class hero-type into Oasis etc. He never really suited the rags in exactly the same way that Tevez never really suited them.
I'm not talking about on the pitch. I mean as iconic figures. As individuals.
I've also always had the impression that he quite likes us and perhaps thats an affinity in-built from being a lifelong Bluenose and rooting for the 'underdog' in a major city.
Lastly, he has fallen out with Ferguson, and an enemy of an enemy is a friend.
Whether he comes to City or heads elsewhere I wish him well because, make no bones about it, today is a significant tipping point in the decline of Manchester United FC. And Rooney has been the cause of that.
