Would You Have Rafa?

I think the one weakness that Benitez and Mancini have shared is that their English lets them down when dealing with the press. They both have very good English for a second language, probably communicate perfectly well on a day to day basis. But they've always struggled in the minefield of press conferences. Just not sufficiently nuanced to get their message across. They both look very frustrated when trying to explain themselves.

Yes, I've watched him at Chelsea. Let's consider that last match versus Tottenham where when needing a goal he took off Oscar and put on Yossi Benayoun... instead of Frank Lampard. That's a typical Rafa move.

well lets consider the match in general, Chelsea played there 66th match of the season, 15-20 more than most teams including Spurs, Chelsea could have been 4-5 goals up before the equalizer.

Regarding Oscar with another 3 games to play he bought on fresh legs in benayoun and prevent injury, but kept lampard waiting who then scored 2 goals against Villa as he felt the spurs attacks were coming from the wings.

Also why look at that substitute when you can say lets look at old trafford, 2 goals down brings on Mikel and Hazard game changed, Chelsea go to replay win the match, is that not an example as well !

Fcuk it how about being 3 -0 down against Kaka, Shevchenko, and Crespo, in a champions league final, brings on hammann changes the game , smicer another sub scores, Liverpool win the CL !!! Perfect example of Rafa being treated differently to other managers where his positives are overlooked and every decision critically analyzed , football is a lie but thats the fcukin media we have over here , they are pricks towards him.

Regarding Rafa at Chelsea, how about if he had just 1 week of training with the squad, then the 2 goal leads against reading and southampton, would not have been draws. and and that We got lucky at Anfield "in Suarez bite game" where 6 minutes were added at the end of the match that rescued a point , but Suarez scores in the 7th minute...he is unlucky there no ! thats extra 6 points puts him above Man City with a game to play no ?

Chelsea have had a mental season of games, he has managed to keep them going and competitive which is a great credit, and if you look at the begining of the season every top club entered 4 competitions to win or at least make a play for it.

Only City out of the top clubs reached a cup final or last 4 while he has managed to get to the last 4 in league cup, Fa Cup, and Europa league cup final, while maintaining 3rd place from an improving Arsenal and Spurs who both will achieve 70 points having played about 15 matches less than Chelsea, including a trip to Japan midway through the season!

It is up to you guys who you feel is best for your club, but I think His CV speaks for himself and once you get to analyze and evaluate the man you will begin to understand that he is indeed rather special !

is better than pellegrini for me. has won!!! major tittles, has won!!! major games and has build a big!! club fighting for every tittle. if 08/09 liverpool had concentrated only on one trophie they would have won PL or CL without any doubts but the problem was bench worse then midlsbrough has. rafa has experience in PL, rafa knows English football and rafa will be great for our players, who will be unhappy after mancini goes. for example silva always says that mancini is like father for him, aguero and yaya will be unhappy and rafa knows some of our footballers better than mancini knows and wanted to buy them when he was at liverpool. his tactics are same and like mancini he played at liverpool 4-2-3-1. so many things will remain same as i think.
i am not sure that mancini will be sacked but if that happens there are plenty of managers better than pellegrini to sign.

The press hate Rafa. And they don't like City much.

I think if we put the two together, they'd have a field-day.

Rafa won't be considered, as he has the same disease that Mou and Bobby have - loose cannon syndrome. That is not what Soriano and Begiristain want in their organization. They are famously adverse to airing of dirty laundry in public and anything that might embarass the club they work for.

cityisblue has almost convinced me. If we don't get Pellegrini, then I wouldn't mind rafa. He hates United so win-win.

Thanks Clowny, but its not about me convincing its about the knowledgeable Football Fans remove the facts from the fiction.

He is a truly great manager , that is completely misunderstood and misrepresented, he is not perfect but no coach is, but he knows how to win football matches, and trophies , and you guys will be a phenemenol footballing force both in English and European football, and he will do it so quickly.

Also you will sign some really exciting players and young , like Munian, Javi Martinez, Jovetic, any other spanish and argentian wonderkids.

At liverpool, we could have had Dani Alves before he became what he is now, David Villa before the goal scoring machine he became at valencia, Alexander Pato, Eden Hazard, we were always linked with Silva and Mata..before there valencia exposure...you and other city fans will start appreciating his talent as soon he starts his work but it might be to late it seems its Pelegrini who is also a good coach but he has not won anything in 9 seasons of European football so I think he may take time to adapt and learn but in that time I can see Chelsea really dominating without much competition.

rafa has a good winning c.v but I think if city are to sack mancini they would be a laughing stock and would have to make a big statement and replace him with a big name ie jose mourinho

Couldn't coach a dog in from a snowstorm with a pork chop. I have to laugh at all the jokers that have signed up just to try to convince us that he's the right man for the job. They're hoping that if we hire raffi, it will offset their grief regarding hiring the other bitter jock from across the road. P.S, don't bother naming all the intertoto, world club cub, charity shield wins. There about as meaningfull as a blue peter badge.

I've just had a Turbot.

Sorry, thought this was the "What've you had for tea?" thread.

have a look at his CV, you aint got a clue what you talking about, You want Mourinho because he gurantees trophies,,well so does this guy have a look at his CV and compare it to what you as a club have won over 100 years,,and unlike mourinho he does not spend hundreds of millions to do it..keep reading the Rags...

Anyhow good luck with Pelegrini or whoever and i can guarantee he will not be successfull...been watching the game since the age of 6, I know a thing or to about football

The problem with Rafa is his image, this has been built by the very press we despise. Ever since he had the guts and balls to tell it as it is and point out the inconsistencies and favouritism afford to man utd he has been vilified.

However, his record is excellent, with his knowledge of the Premier league and experience in Europe he would be a good appointment.

Look beyond what we are brainwashed into believing by our gutter press, the same people who have hounded Mancini and now tell us Moyes is the next great one, funny that because a few weeks earlier he had never won anything and again missed out on Europe.

Rafa is just what we are looking for.
