Would you like Religion gone from the world ?

Nah, just get rid of the all the evil bastards and fuckwits.

No problem with people believing what they want to believe, as long they respect others and follow the law of the land.

I think thats where religion fails though. although religion should only be used for faith, it has too many political sides to it that people are dying in the name of religion for politics.

That's because of the evil bastards and fuckwits though, religion is just the tool. It's like saying would you like all guns gone from the World? If they were, something else would just take their place, they're not the problem, it's the people who abuse them that are.

Is there any armament out there that would kill religion and religious people without causing mass collateral damage and innocent death?

What would the world look like afterwards?

Come on tonea2003 - you're an engineer.

no requirement for armaments nor to be an engineer paul to have the realisation of the good book being not so good.

thought you were not for jousting?

World would be a far better place if we got rid of them god bothering tossers like that Mother Teresa woman,Isaac Newton and Louis Pasteur useless all of em.Get some good atheists in charge good examples Being good old Adolph and Uncle Joe Stalin at least we wouldn't have to worry about god then we'd all know whether he existed or not.

Adolph was a god-botherer
To right he was a god botherer he saddled him with finding space for 30 million he weren't expecting and had he won he'd have proper bothered him when he banned him totally as he was getting in the way of his plans to remove what he considered the planets vermin. His hatred of vermin culminated in 1941 when ordered the Luftwaffe to destroy old trafford no matter what the cost.

So forcing religion on a child is abuse but bringing them up as a city fan, to play the piano, to learn anything before they have rational thoughts themselves is fine. You can't have it both ways. As long as when they are old enough you let them make their own minds up then in my book thats fine.

Also some of the most demanding human feats have been done in the name in religion. Not that i agree with them. Just the weak comment.

No task is demanding if you think you have an eternity of bliss to follow.

As for bringing them up a football fan, you're intelligent enough to know the difference between religious indoctrination and football fanaticism. Football fanaticism never taught a kid that someone died for their sins. Never said that hells fury awaits if they are bad and don't follow the rules in a book written in the iron age, that 72 virgins await if they kill a utd fan on wembley way. Religion is far more powerful than that, or learning to play the piano.

Ah sorry i did not see this.

I have never been indoctrinated or been tough i go to hell for doing bad things. I was not scared into religion, i choose to believe. "Religious experience" is every limited from where you've been raised.

If it was not religion, extremists would kill in the name of something else.

How do you "choose to believe"? Did you also choose to believe that 2+2=4? Did you choose to believe that life evolves? Did you choose to believe that there is a sun in the sky?

"in the name of" Yea, this is a sorry excuse.
It's also empirically untrue. Look at the US today. People lose their religion and go from hating gays, and denying them rights, to voting for Gay Marriage. If these people really only hated gays "in the name of" their religion this wouldn't happen. And yet it almost universally does.
