Am I being a miserable twat because it’s getting right on my nerves the amount of smoke being blown up the arse of this club.

Ok, we know their owners are film stars and seem to be doing a good job for the club and the town but do we need to be told about how fucking marvellous they are all the time? Thank fuck they lost yesterday.

Yes, you are!

They took a team, and town, flat on its back and raised them both up by smart investment, both in players and infrastructure, fan engagement, and promoting the town.

That took a bit of self-promotion and media blitz, plus a global TV hit, but I’m struggling to see the downside created by this “rising from the ashes” tale.

If you’ve not watched it, which I’m guessing you haven’t by your post, watch the entire series of their show.

My only experience of Wrexham before that was being chased around the Queen’s Park estate around 1996 - a shithole.

After watching that my opinion of the place is completely different. What they’ve done to the club is nothing short of phenomenal.

Tbf, he does have a certain schtick that can grow old somewhat quickly, but he’s made some very good investments and used the proceeds to help buy, and improve, Wrexham.

And, as a “movie money” Canadian partnering with a “TV money” Yank, he gets a pass on the “annoying Yank owner” meme. ;-)

A bit harsh that I think. It goes beyond the team, what they have done to the whole club including the yoof and womens teams is remarkable really, a real commitment. And Wrexham was a real dead end shithole of a town that has been rejuvenated. We know ourselves what owner commitment to area rejuvenation can do with the our owners and Eastlands in general. Yeah they have a lot of exposure but that tv series has played a large part in funding it I suppose. I dont see any downsides in it, nobody can say they havent committed properly to it
