Writing is on the wall

Can't see Mourinho being our next manager. I wouldn't be against the idea of David Moyes taking over from Bobby, whenever that day comes.

Albeit, a good manager, he has little European experience, only knows how to manage on a shoestring, and would not entice top names.

A lot of decent middle-of-the-road managers get found out when they have more money to spend.

Joe Royle was a great wheeler-dealer but when he came to City, he didn't know what day it was when we reached the Premier League again.

Same argument could be made for Hughes, punching above his weight at Blackburn, reckless when given cash with us and QPR.

People say Jose is a short term manager but where has our Bobby stayed and created a winning dynasty.
He has been been pretty short term in all of his jobs IMO.

If we win the FA Cup and come runners-up that's not too shabby I reckon.

I've a feeling that's what will happen. I'd take it now if offered.

But even if it does that represents a backwards step for the club and a missed opportunity to consolidate on the title win, especially given the European results. And it represents underachievement given our quality.

-- Fri Feb 01, 2013 11:26 am --

You always get silence when that point is made.

Mancini's average length of tenure is very similar to Mourinho's.

What makes you say he can only manage on a shoestring? How do you know how he'd fare if he had the amounts that Mancini and Hughes had? I just don't get this counter argument.

He has proven, undoubtedly, that he is a top notch manager. Having funds available might just bring him to that next level. Personally, I think it would. But hey, what do I know!

The way the Cup is panning out, we are going to have to either play United in a semi or final, unless Everton upset that equation.

Either way, this notion we will redeem our season is still a long shot.

I could see Mancini at Milan or Paris if things don't fall ours and his way.

I'm sure the board would take a 2nd in the league, FA Cup win and see how RM gets on in Europe - he can not fail again though

I was in London yesterday and was chatting to a few people. They say Mourinho is definitely flirting with Chelsea at the mo.

We would be bonkers if 2nd place and an FA Cup is not good enough

What about 2nd and no FA cup?

Depends how we finish the season. If we put up no fight at all and lose the title by 10+ points then I would consider a change. Dont ask who though!

It's our destiny this year.

Man United in the cup final. Win that one, lose the league to them.

Mark my words.

Great, either double the pleasure or the pain of a United Double.

Your words are fucked if we draw Everton at Goodison should we get past Leeds.
