I've become a lot more patient with City in the Guardiola era. But there were timed where we were just stood with the ball waiting for something to happen.Getting to the 18yd line was an excruciating ordeal considering the time it took to get the ball out of our own half!
Then by the end we were just hoofing it. Painful at times.

That business of standing stationary with the ball, prodding it about four times and then making the pass that was obvious from the first touch was written large on our play today. Some of our players are gonna be experts at walking football when they retire.I've become a lot more patient with City in the Guardiola era. Arsenal scored 6 from 11 shots on goal less tonight, despite having been 2-0 down at half time.Finishing was absolutely tragic. Nothing else really to add.

Yep it's a repeating pattern of us not being able to covert long periods of sustained pressure/territorial advantage into goals.
Finishing was poor yesterday but they were mostly half chances/not from the best angle and we dont really have a plan B to break down teams who are defending deep and compact.
I actually didn't mind us not making loads of signings this summer as we'd retained our best players, gotten a really good young prospect in Park back and then made a genuinely world class addition in Roord. However we are definitely lacking in quality at the back (Greenwood aside) and will always be vulnerable to a smash and grab type result if we're not getting the best out of the talent we have further up the pitch.

As for the back line, I'm really not sure why Taylor has not gone back to Houghton and let her get her form back and/ or give Mace a run.

Hopefully the City management will do likewise very soon.
Not seen any signs that he has improved or changed his tactical awareness or ability.
The City regime should not be settling for a mediocre manager looking after any of our teams, when they have shown over their time here that they want the best options possible.

If players aren't looking to make that pass though I still think that's a problem with the coach. Obvs with Houghton's age, she's not going to be a long term answer but I agree she ought to be able to step in and provide decent cover. I haven't really seen enough of Mace to know if she's up to the task but all in all I think we need to get some serious upgrades in at the back (and a serious upgrade on coach).
