When's the last time we scored from a corner?
We get loads per game but never do anything with them, the ball seldom going to one of our players even.
It would be interesting to see the stats.
New set piece coach this year. Let's see how it changes.

If you put "Guardiola Rico Lewis" in Google there are many articles where Pep describes Rico's abilities - you don't need me to paraphrase them.

If you disagree fine but it takes a certain kind of arrogance to disagree with someone of Pep's experience and trophy winning history.

If it was Stuart Pearce as manager we were talking about I might cut you a bit of slack.
Once again your argument is cos pep says so you have literally not counter balanced anything i have said, that is not an argument, neither am i being arrogant, pep is not ALWAYS right, nobody is or ever has been and like i say its cult like behaviour to just agree with what someone says rather than look at the evidence in front of our own eyes, now once again i will ask what does lewis bring to the table and what does he do better than anyone else and the answer cant be well pep says.

It's not cult like behaviour to have an opinion on a player that's the same as someone else's.

There are many articles where Pep EXPLAINS what qualities Rico has - he doesn't just say "Rico a is good player". I can't explain it better than him!
OK I get it you know more about football than Pep Guardiola and anyone who disagrees with you is part of cult. Well it's a cult I'm happy to be part of.

Whatever you say, your only argument is cos pep says so, therefore it must be true, in your eyes pep is infallible and no more must be said, my last response was tell me what does lewis do better than anyone else and i have asked this 3 times and each time your response is well pep says, why dont you tell me what he does better than anyone else in your own opinion rather than cos pep says

So you think that lewis is good enough because pep likes him then, all i have asked is what does he do better than anyone else and the only response i have had is pep says he is good enough so that will do, i dont think i know better than pep that would be ridiculous but to suggest that pep is infallible would also be ridiculous

No I haven't said that learn to read (and use Google).
Pep doesn't say he "likes him" he explains the footballing qualities he brings to the team and I agree with his analysis.
If you can't be arsed to find this information yourself that's not my problem.

your condescending tone and faux superiority is really quite boring, you have no capacity for argument and reasoned debate and therefore arent worth the energy..

If you cant be arsed to answer simple question or counterbalance simple arguments with reasonable information and the whole basis of your argument is because someone said so then you would be better off debating with a five year old, that seems more your level.

Decent work out, like the look of both new players,we have so much more attacking intent now..glad the Channel 5 studio presenter lady kept reminding the audience that City didn’t win a trophy last season otherwise we wouldn’t have known.

I suppose the biggest takeaways are that we didn't fall into to the trap of being caught on the counter despite the newer faces, still broke down a mental behind the ball philosophy, and nobody looked out of place.

Red card was disappointing. Not least because anyone watching a replay of that can see Lewis is actually doubled first, his leg is contacted and moved by the other players leg, which then mean sit ended up in his face. Accidental for sure, and arguably only caused because the opposition player was second to the ball in his challenge. Still, top much to ask the referee to apply logic regardless of the continent or tournament, it seems.

Reijnders looks a player, you know when you can just tell some what shape a player has when he receives and gives the ball? He'll do well. Cherki I was a little disappointed with but hats being harsh. I just worry he's a fair-weather footballer because that won't sit well with pep, but I'm sure that's too much to read into one shirt performance. We know he's clearly capable of more .

Foden already looks like a more interested, more focused player. That would be amazing for us. Plus a fit Stones, Rodri and Bobby and all of a sudden we are overly blessed with options again.

Not watching the next one live, silly kick off time for the UK and I need the sleep, hopefully we do the business and don't go into the Juventus game needing a win.

Er - we did fall into the trap a few times. Thankfully the opposition couldn't finish.

I suppose not as well as you oakie, maybe sometime you can give me a tour of your suite at Stokley Park and give me a full depth explanation.
If a player is deemed to be off for a red card it is checked by VAR which actually happened. Therefore Lewis was awaiting confirmation from VAR (which happens all the time but obviously you`re not aware as I stated) before the player officially is sent off.
Quite straightforward but you are ignorant of said ruling.

Difficult to interpret much from one game when it's a mix and match selection. It's more comforting knowing it's a younger side than last season though. Only concern is it's still the same brand of football, which pales in comparison to the dynamism of PSG or Barcelona.

It sums up modern day football and social media that after Cherki had a good appearance off the bench in the Nations League for France, everyone was saying we'd signed a total superstar, and after a quieter game yesterday Sports Bible ran a story of "City Fans give their reaction to Rayan Cherki Debut" story, which showed tweets saying he was nervous, not that good, trying too hard etc.

The truth is always somewhere in the middle with the old social media.

For once, just fucking ONCE, I would love to see our local English support appreciate what us Yank blues go through to support the team we love. Your country is the size of fucking New Jersey, yeah the M12 is a mess, yeah the trains are inconsistent. Do you think the USA is without transportation problems, do you think people wake up in Detroit and decide to drive to Philly on a whim.
We're ALL fucking Blues for God's sake each and every one of us, support our team AND one and other.
For what it's worth, I had a great time today in my home town and also for what it's worth, I was at York away!!!

got no fans!!!

It’s how refs get affected by who and when. The “who” in this case was a pretty unknown player, maybe inexperienced, and is given some leeway, but if that was a City defender I would expect a clamour of calls for a red. The “when” is because it’s early in the game and the ref doesn’t want to disadvantage a team that could have been onto a thrashing (so soon after our early goal). I reckon that tackle happens second half and he’s off.
I reckon that tackles happens to a player from any other team and he’s off!
