Yaya-Keep or Sell?

I'll never forget being on a short break with my wife in NYC in May 2014 and waking up to news of the birthdaycakegate. Thanks for the memories Yaya - and there were many - but it's time to move him on; I always felt it was going to implode at any moment, with or without the agent.

Sell sell as quick as we can
Well it's just as well we still have him for now for despite his many critics he still remains our midfield lynch pin. Next season is another matter There are good arguments for both side of the coin. It will probably boil down to Pep in the end and what offers come in for him. Personally I would be tempted to keep him for at least one more season on condition he accepts a lighter workload (at least 5/6 days rest between games) and retires from international football. IMO he would still be a huge asset to have in particular coming off the bench for the last 30 min of matches.

He has given us so many great memories but chooses to destroy them every summer talking shit. That doesn't help with half arsed performances for the last two years. On his day he is class but I cant remember the last time he was on his day

I'm not suggesting he must stay at all costs but many fans underestimate his contribution even when not "on his day". He is essential for the next 6 weeks as we still have not managed to find an effective way of playing without him in the side. I agree that his dick head of an agent is a pain but is that not just part and parcel of the modern game. As I said above if Pep can motivate the guy there may well be a season left during which he could make a big contribution. His presence assuming he is on side could also ease in the transition of whoever turns out to be his replacement. However, the worst case scenario would be holding on to him if he is demotivated and proving impossible to keep happy. Finally, I think a lot could hinge on what offers come in and the situation with respect to his salary. There are not too many places he can go unless he is prepared to take a big wage cut.

I take it he can go because we beat Bournemouth!
He can go because his legs have gone and without injuries we are better off without him. Delph and Nasri will be back soon. I think Nasri will leave in the Summer as well

Pellegrini really messed up this season as it should have been De Bruyne in and Toure out, but he retained Toure and latterly (before De Bruyne got injured) he was benching De Bruyne seemingly struggling to play De Bruyne, Silva and Toure in the same team.

I said in another thread that those 3 can't play in the same team. Personally, I'd have Toure and de Bruyne as I think de Bruyne can play the Silva role, but I don't think Silva can play the Toure role (wouldn't bother me if Pellegrini tried it, but he won't). I don't think he'd want that role either, and would probably move on rather than play second fiddle to de Bruyne. Unfortunately for us, I don't believe Pellegrini has the balls to make the tough decision about dropping players, so he'll probably start all 3, which will again expose our defenders who will get pelters on here for being shite.
