Yaya/Kolo not available against the rags - BBC {merged}

He is our player and is registered and eligible to play in the FA cup. play him and take whatever comes although i doubt they can do jack shit as hes not missing a game or training for them.

There was Yaya's quote somewhere on this thread where he confirmed that IC manager wants them there and that he is disappointed he can't play on Sunday

-- Fri Jan 06, 2012 2:49 pm --

Players have to report to their national teams at least 2 weeks before competition starts unless they got permission from they FA. Clubs can't keep them without permission.

Ivory Coast coach Francois Zahoui has called off his team’s scheduled gathering in Paris amid foggy arrangements for the 2012 African Cup of Nations, sparking nationwide concerns over the wellbeing of one of the frontrunners of the showpiece.

The Elephants were to regroup on Saturday January 7 in the French capital before heading for Abu Dhabi where a pre-tournament camping will hold for a week, to be topped off with two friendly matches against Lebanon and Tunisia.

However, the new arrangement enjoins the players to travel individually to the United Arab Emirate without a stopover in France. No reasons were given by the coach, but a source at the Ivory Coast Football Federation (FIF), who refused to be named for not being authorized to speak for the body, told Supersport.com that the decision was not from coach Zahoui but from the FA itself.

Ivory Coast are yet to publish their Afcon list unlike a number of other teams. Zahoui told a press conference last week that he had sent invitations to 30 players to form a preliminary squad, but did not mention any names.

Local sport editorialists this week began blasting the former Ivory Coast international for keeping the media and fans in suspense by failing to unveil the much-awaited list. “Zahoui is waiting for his work plan to be approved and it’s taking time. We all know Ivorians are impatient to see the list but the problem does not primarily lie with the coach. It’s hierarchical and there’s little we can do for now,” the Fif source said.

Ivory Coast will kick off their campaign against Sudan in Group B on January 22 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, before meeting familiar neighbours Burkina Faso and Angola.

As someone else has pointed out, that article is from 4th January so I wouldn't pay much attention to it.

Yaya isn't playing on Sunday, time to get used to it.

January 4th article?

Thats my first thought - surely someone ITK would have picked up on this by now? Or is it all smoke and mirrors by City keeping the scum guessing? A little input from our owners, maybe, with a smattering of private jet after the game? :)

Bugger just saw Rics comment.... mum's the word ;)

So have the Ivory Coast even finalized their squad yet? If not then is there a finite number of players they can demand be released from their clubs two weeks prior to a tournament or can they insist on literally any Ivorian player being released?
