Yaya Toure - 2016/17 performances

Despite scoring the two goals against Palace, I felt Yaya was struggling a bit to have a major impact in the general proceedings of the match. Hopefully he gains match fitness quickly because he obviously won't be able to score in every match.

To be honest we haven't been good at scoring goals recently and as much as Pep's the managerial genius, not me, I think it would be a big mistake to leave out a talented player with a desire to prove himself and the ability to make goals out of nothing. If it's up to me, Touré starts tomorrow. His overall play wasn't great but that could be put down to rustiness.

Toure will grow as an attacking threat with more gametime. An incredible asset to add to Prem match days for the remainder of the season.

Yaya Touré when asked if he wants to be in the revised Champions League squad: "Yes, of course. Of course - that’s why I stayed at City."

I thought Toure contributed quite well to our attacking play today.

I agree, helps us maintain the ball when we're up against it but also has the height to help deal with the opposition hoofing the ball into the box late on. He still has a role here if used correctly and he's done a solid job in the 2 games he has played.
