You reman clueless it seems..... The beauty of yaya, and let this sink in, is that a lot like the great midfield players, he wins the battle before a ball is kicked. The guy is probably the best all round midfielder the prem has seen, if you believe that doesn't play in to the minds of opposing players then you will continue to reinforce the point of those who watch games, yet fail to actually see...

Those stats are 'facts' for those who can't form opinion on there own... FACT

Absolute hogwash. If us fans can see that he is largely past his best, then I'm sure fired-up, full of confidence, capable opponents think and know they can out-perform him if they work hard.

Nonsense, the level yaya is playing since his come back and am quite sure he can easily maintain if he doesn't lose his head is way beyond 95% of the league. He doesn't make sloppy passes, you can't nick the ball of him. No matter how hard or how high you press him. He effortlessly does what he does. 60 mins of that and any teams head will drop .

His only weakness is he doesn't track runners, pep seems to resolved this.

Even now at this late stage of his career, I am sure he will have a better season than pogba.

Just watched the Hull game again.
Toure made 85 passes. Most were successful. 35 Were passed towards his own goal. None of the 85 were into the opposing area.
Yaya made 5 challenges . 3 were fouls 1 was missed and 1 successful.
3 defensive headers all unchallenged.
2 shots 1 a goal from the spot.

Those are the facts. My opinion is that away at Liverpool you need 2 central midfielders to track runners and make challenges on the edge of the box. Toure just cannot do this. The 2 ferns need to play.
Save Toure for possession games I.E Burnley.

Yaya recovered the ball 9 times against Hull, something you failed to spot in your analysis, at least have a balanced view when you re-watch the game.

Not that I don't agree with some of your analysis but given the effort he has been putting in, he has to start vs Liverpool for me, our most important player since he came back into the fold.

Thanks for you reply. You are correct I did not include ball recoveries. I do not claim to be a one man opta.
I agree that is what he does. He does not do challenges or aerial dials, he gets out of the way of the flight of the ball at defensive free kicks and positions himself to pick up the 2nd ball or a pass from that 2nd ball. I am not criticising him, just saying what happens.
Against Liverpool there needs to be more than just fernandino trying to win the first challenge. 2 to try win the ball and then you can have Toure recovering the ball.
Marcini and pellegrini both have failed in this respect and been overun at anfield.
I am desperate to get something at anfield, it could be pivotal
Anyway much better to converse with someone not on soft putty.

I get your point and definitely in recent years we've seen that we need more steel and energy in the midfield, particularly in the bigger games and particularly against Liverpool. However, we were a shambles against Leicester and that was without Yaya for the most part (granted it was without Dinho too). For me at the moment, Yaya is central to everything Pep wants; keeping possession, winning the ball back and playing the ball forward accurately.
My starting midfield would be:
------Fernandinho----Yaya
Sterling-----De Bruyne-----Sane

You would leave Silva out for Yaya?

I think you need to take your head off and kick it against a wall, several times.

Honestly it's a tough one the more I think about it, Yaya has been great and so has Silva, maybe Sane isn't fit and he'll go with Silva. He could even go with 6 midfielders and leave Sergio out.

My account says it was registered in 2004, although I didn't think it was that long ago but even so that's quite possibly the most stupid post I've ever read on here since someone suggested we play Petrov at left back. Leaving Silva out for Yaya is crazy but fucking Sergio, just pass me my medication.

Simple really, Yaya is a better player. Oh, and KdB can do what Silva does, but is better at free kicks and corners, oh and has a better shot.

Go take your head for a shit.

Beat Arsenal without a striker so I wouldn't put it beyond Pep, anyway that was more tongue in cheek. Right now though we need pace out wide and possession and strength in midfield, that places Yaya ahead of Silva for me.
