I mean, he is just trying to fool asahartford. Don't you know, he really is only about the money, except for when he is not.
He really is tea total except when he is not.

You probably mean teetotal, and who the fuck are you to say if Yaya Touré can or can't drink?
Just because he refused an alcoholic drink once because he wasn't drinking then, doesn't mean he can't have changed his religious beliefs in the following 5 years and it's his right to.
Thank you, good post.
I did not say whether he can or cannot drink. Don't give a shit.
He said it in front of the tv camera only last season.
It is another example of not trusting what he says. My opinion.
You can have whatever opinion you want.
You can also believe he did not knowlingly drink alcohol . This is what his defence said. Then that would also be your opinion.
It's not a good post, it's bullshit. Anyone who thinks Touré isn't a leader in this team has had their head in the sand for years. You only need to look at the way the other players speak of him, treat him and constantly look up to him.
He put on weight and stopped playing well, does that mean he's not a leader or did he just fall out of love with the game for a bit, stop taking it quite so seriously and re-evaluate his life a bit after his brother died?
But no, I'm sure it completely rules out the fact he's been a leader for the other 5.5 years at the club during which he's played a key role in winning every trophy to our name for the last 40 years. Often not just leading the team but putting them on his back.
Last season? When? Source? The only time he's said it to my knowledge is in 2012.
His defence did say it was unknowing and the judge accepted that was the case.
Believe it or not, I don't care but using the fact he drinks now after saying he didn't drink 5 years ago as some sort of judgement of him is bullshit.
Domalino - you are quite right that for the majority of his time with us he has been immense - In fact you could easily say that he single handedly took us to another level and made the transition to where we are now much faster.I agree that alone confirmed his status as an important leader. There is also no doubting his ability during that time. I think though he lost his way and I think he maybe needed a new challenge after his endeavours with us - perhaps Pellegrini and others gave him too much respect, you knew even if he had a poor spell he would never be taken off or dropped. During that short period he was out of condition - Fact. Held the club to ransom-or tried to- with ridiculous demands via an idiot of an agent - Fact. Made a fuss about a cake and sulked when he was ignored in Abu Dhabi - Fact. Lost form - Fact.
Like all fans I loved watching Yaya when he literally terrified the opposition, it's just that my main worry is we have been guilty of holding onto players for too long in the past. You correctly point out maybe his dip was just a human response to a personal tragedy, I myself think it was a number of factors, but as you know in professional sport you are judged rightly or wrongly by recent actions and form. He has been paid in excess of 180k per week for his craft and I just don't think he would be worth that at age 35+ plus I'm not sure he would be all in for a bit part role but then again I've no idea if he would be open to that- if so yep no brainer keep him for a year. As I said in my early post I want him to leave on a high rather than under the cloud of protracted negotiation or another falling out. One final thing is there is no doubt he will go down as one of the best players who played for us but even the best eventually run out of time. Cheers.
I think Dihno is in fact the perfect RB for Pep's system. I mean, age permitting and all. I know I'm one of the few ageist here, and I really would not be offering new contracts to anyone over 30.
Not Yaya, not Dihno, not Silva. Not because I don't want them, but more because I don't want to view them as starters. Guys in their 30's are bad investments. At best, they should all be transitioning into backup roles. And if you don't have a player who can beat them out yet, then you know where your weaknesses lie.
Silva, and Dihno have an extra year left on their contracts I believe. So I'll keep both while actively looking for who'd supplant them as starters. I think Gundogan will supplant Silva as the 2nd 8. And the 3 (Gundogan, Kev and Silva) will rotate starting as the 2 #8s with Silva having fewer starts than the other 2.
Yaya, I'd let go at season's end. Sadly we wouldn't. I'm one od his biggest fans, but I'm also a realist. Next season Pogba will be demonstrably better than Yaya, time we find the next powerhouse.
Dihno, I'll let him play out his contract and let Garcia and whoever replaces Yaya be the 2 at the base of the triangle.
Do not get emotional with these decisions.
Coz Pogba was viewed as the future Yaya once upon a time. That future is here now, so it would behoove us to not go anchoring up our future in the past...Pogba is obviously better these days, but he couldn't do what Yaya does. We don't play with a "powerhouse" either so don't see why you even had to mention Pogba.

Or perhaps I'm a rag who just wanted to big up Pogba.
Or maybe I like the word 'Powerhouse' and perhaps even considered Yaya to be one once upon a time on account of those powerhouse runs he used to make a few years ago.
But hey your pick as to what you think my reasons were. (:
