But seeing as he is still here, save him for the last few minutes in Cup games when we are tied. He's still a great. PK taker.

you weren't saying that when he was excellent in the last half of last season, this is a season too far i agree

In all fairness he put the effort in last season and that’s all I’ll ever ask, even though he was still detrimental to the team.

he only has 6 months or so left and he can play the cup and teach some young uns,i expect that is why he is still here so he can help coach the kids using his long career experience, tbf they couldn't get a better midfield teacher ,he is old it happens

Well he certainly doesn’t lead by example but hopefully he’s helping in some way.

his is finished regarding the first team premiership wise, cup game wise??, personally think maybe hes finished in cup games aswell but think he deserves one last swan song, depends how ruthless pep is i guess, against arsenal and to a degree chelsea where there is plenty of movement in midfield/up top he will get done, against utd where up against a bus then he may come in useful, all my humble opinion of course

Yaya(and god knows this hurts to write) is killing this team(the cup team) in the same way Clichy was. He's not just having a poor game, he's causing everyone around him to have poor games.

Case in point, Mangala receiving the ball on the touchline from Bravo. It's a hospital pass. It's lead to frantic scenes as Mangala isn't good enough to comfortably play it out from there.

BUT, he should never have to. If you watch Ederson with a centre back and Fernandinho, Dinho moves into space to allow the ball to be received once the presser steps up to attack Mangala(or whoever is in that position). It is never an issue with them. But Yaya doesn't move in between the press and that means the press works. Bravo can't put the ball where it should be going and he gives a terrible ball to Mangala who is on the by-line with a press approaching him. The next move is for him to play it to the left back, who looks for the midfielder. Yet again, Yaya is walking and not where he should be, meaning ZInchenko either has to try play out, hoof it, or give it back to Mangala.

This simple little sequence gave us nightmares yesterday, purely because Yaya didn't play his part in the move.

I love Yaya. I wanted him to stay. Build him a statue, make him a coach. But for the sake of those in the team, don't play him anymore.

you are forgeting the brilliant yaya who has been part of our success,a big part, its churlish to dismiss his experience and what he can teach the kids

They’ve got Pep, Silva, Vinny, Aguero, Fernandinho and Danilo who have all won things and can pass on that experience. Yaya’s attitude and lack of commitment at times is the very last thing you want kids learning from, if they think they can succeed without trying for long periods of there careers then we might as well give up now.

I think Pep should move Yaya from DM to CM.

Yaya had his best games when he was not playing as Defensive midfielder.

How many first team appearances does Yaya need to qualify for a premiership winner's medal? Does being on the bench but not playing count? Or do all squad members get them?

5 is needed for a Premier League medal.

He'll make it easily, he's already on 3 and will probably get another this week.

Just tweeted it out. Not playing as many games as he use to, so probably a way of getting game time again.

Dimitri Seluk to Sky Sports News: "Everything is good at Man City. He [Yaya Touré] will 100 per cent stay at City in January. He wants to be a three-time champion of the Premier League, but he is also enjoying using his experience to help the young players at the club."

He certainly looks happy right now, in all the clips you see, his 'experience' helping our youngsters could be invaluable, in fact I'd try and keep him, and get him doing that on a full time basis.

I wouldn't be against him staying on in a coaching capacity just not playing anymore, like him or not he has been one of the best midfielders in the world and we should use that
