Yaya Toure apologises

That's presuming anyone actually feels the need to point out that Ballbag is talking shite, it is after all his profession.

It's most journos' profession.

He has written a biography of Pep Guardiola which is plainly with the consent of Pep Guardiola. hence Ferguson doing the foreward, at the time he thought/hoped Pep would end up at the swamp.

I assumed most people on here had read it.

It explains quite a lot of what's happening right now.

Should've written his contract off in the summer and sent him packing. Odd move keeping him. Bet it was a financial decision by Txiki/Soriano as opposed to Pep saying "let's keep him".

I think it was a stand-off between the club and the player/agent in the summer, but unfortunately nobody blinked first leaving us in this current predicament which suits no one. I agree we should have come to a compromise, even if it meant having to partly pay up his contract.

Seluk - the agent - is only after a big pay day for himself.
He is crapping himself that Yaya will go as a free agent(?)

Seluk is 'stirring the pot' so he can put it all in his Book - yet to be written.

You don't need someone's consent to write a biography as far as I know anymore than you do to write a newspaper article about them. Plus I wouldn't believe a word that came out of his mouth on Guardiola after the Bayern move. He's hardly getting anything straight from the horse's mouth when he was running around telling everyone City had signed Guardiola 4 months after he'd signed his contract with Bayern.

Too many here have the emotional maturity of 13 year olds.

It's better than having an IQ of 13 as you appear to do.

You're probably correct that Yaya, like Hart, doesn't fit what Pep is trying to do. But there's a few things going on here on various levels.

In saying that Yaya shouldn't be punished for the actions of a third party, you've got that completely wrong. Toure and Seluk have a contractual relationship and Seluk is either speaking with Toure's knowledge and consent or he isn't. If the former then Toure fully deserves to take the flak. If the latter then Toure needs to stop his agent talking out of his arse as he's the one who pays him.

Pep (and the club) are also sending out messages to both players and agents, which Seluk's behaviour has given them the perfect cover for. The players are being told "Don't Rock the boat or you're out".

Agents are being told that if you want your client to play for what is going to be one of the 'go-to' clubs over the next few years then you'd better not piss us off and you'd better make sure your player doesn't either.

perhaps strangely, I am beginning to wonder if this is just Pep calling out to YaYa - asking him to have the courage to let go of a way of thinking in which he sees himself as being above the team, so that he may come to be part of the team...then coming to know the kind of transformation in performance that has been seen with the likes of Aleks and Raheem...in this way, extending his career?

aha! the old double bluff routine...............except the average footballer is too thick to get the subtlety. That's why managers use the direct method.

If you're going to act like a twat then you better have the ability to counteract it.

For years Yaya has done that. His performances for us has overshadowed the constant digs from his agent. If I had £1 for every time that Seluk has belittled City and made it out that Yaya is doing us a favour by being here then I'd be a rich man.

However, the minute your ability has dropped, don't be surprised for the club to give you a taste of your own medicine.
