How many midfielders do they need at PSG anyway? They just brought in Cabaye, resigned Matuidi. They've got Veratti and Motta as well. Plenty of wide players. Yaya is obviously better than all of these players but it'd be such a strange destination to me. They'd have to sell one or two of those players.

All those stars at PSG demand a big signing every season otherwise they'll threaten to leave. PSG probably want to make Toure their latest signing to make Ibrahimovich and co happy.

It's interesting that Toure follows Ibrahimovic on twitter. It's also interesting that he follows the official french football account.
They played together at Barca.

Yaya has played in the French league

He also played in the Ukraine, but doesn't follow the league.

It's clear to me that he is monitoring the french league.

I also think that Seluk and Toure are making comments about Barcelona to force PSG to make a big offer. "300k a week or we will join Barcelona" kind of thing.

I follow Real Madrid's English account on twitter, I think we all know what that means.

You're like the worst troll ever.

talk of Pogba as as a replacement, isn't a bad call as a younger version of yaya, right down to his excessive demands off the pitch, unfortunately thats what we are always going to attract, goes with the territory

I'm all for bringing in Pogba, but make no mistake he isn't half the player Yaya is right now. We can't just swap them out.

Maybe because a lot of west African players play there and he is mates with some of them?

I don't dispute that PSG makes sense as far as where he might be trying to go. But just "monitoring the French League" on twatter is probably evidence of nothing.

Paris aren't going to sign him ... wait and see.

It's only just dawned on me that Yaya has played at Monaco once already in his career. If I was a betting man all my money would be on him going there IF he moves anywhere this summer. No one else can afford him or will want to pay the money it'll cost in transfer fee and wages.

I can't believe so many people are taking it at face value and thinking Yaya is genuinely spitting his dummy out because we didn't get him a birthday cake. There it's absolutely no truth in that, it's so absurd that it's just not worth discussing.

Clearly this is his agent chatting shit to try and re-negotiate his contract / angle for a move. He does it every season, and did it regularly at Barca.

If he came out in the press directly and said he wanted more money / wanted to leave, he'd probably be in breach of contract and we could fine him / withhold his bonus.

So he's causing a stink about a "lack of respect" because it forces City's hand to respond / flushes out other interested clubs. It's not a new tactic, Ronaldo claims he wants to "feel the love" every time he wants a new contract. Rooney chats shit about a lack of ambition. Tevez's agent talked of broken promises etc.

It's a horrible way to do business, but it's the reality of the modern game, unfortunately.

Yaya has come from absolutely nothing in Ivory Coast to being one of the highest paid sportsmen in the world, earning an unimaginable amount of money. The man that has helped that happen is Demitri Seluk. He might well be an idiot, but Yaya is understandably close to him and trusts him to handle his affairs.

I'm sure we've all got friends / family members who behave like dickheads from time to time, but we stick by them because we have close human relationships.

Yaya has been foolish for allowing this farce to happen, but I think he's very much the passenger as opposed to the driver.

I personally believe Yaya sent the first two tweets yesterday. Then I think he had a phone call from Seluk saying "what the fuck are you doing, you're messing up my plan to get you a contract as big as Messi's".

Yaya then authorised Seluk to handle his twitter / media output and went back to preparing for the World Cup with Ivory Coast.

The truth might be that Seluk is doing everything he can to squeeze every last penny out of City. He's going about it in a dreadfully distasteful way, but essentially he's employed to get the most money he possibly can for his client, so that explains his motivation.

It might be that Yaya wants a new challenge / change of scene. I'd be gutted if that's true, but many players reach that stage in their life where they want a change of surroundings. If that's how he genuinely feels, while I'm personally disappointed, he'd go with my best wishes as he's been one of the best players ever to play for our club, and helped to bring unparalleled success in terms of league titles.

What is not true, and I refuse to believe, is that Yaya is arsed about his birthday cake / a lack of love or respect. It's absolutely nonesense, and I can't believe it is even getting talked about.

Well if that is the case its about time Yaya grew a pair of bollocks and came out and asked for a move, instead of leaving it to someone to do his dirty work.Had he done that, then I for one would have respected his wishes, far more than I do now.
The old saying "theres no smoke ..." is certainly ringing true so far.

Great post from Shaleums tash, but I think you are missing the point. Yaya in all likelihood is happy to stay this is just posturing from his agent to get him an improved contract - to do that you have to offer the threat that you would leave.

It's all negotiation.

I feared this situation with players like Sergio and YaYa once granny shagger Rooney got 300k a week. Its all ego and if Rooney can command that then obviously other players look at it and want that amount.

They won't because we will never sell him to a rival. Selling Toure to PSG is like giving them the Champions League.

But I wouldn't be surprised if PSG makes a huge bid.
