Bad news. It gets worse!

The rest of the squad have said they're all leaving because Yaya didn't give them party bags. We're doomed.

Doomed!

Doomed I say!

It's not about a resale value though.

Players like Yaya and Ibrahimovic practically guarantee success. Barcelona can not afford to have another trophyless season next year and Toure will be the difference between them winning the league and narrowly missing out.

Yaya might only have two seasons whilst playing at his current level but he will have at least another three playing at his previous Barcelona level as a defensive midfielder.

Put it this way, if any team was to sign Toure on a three/four year deal for £40 million it would be money well spent. When you look at figures being banded about for the likes of Kroos and Pogba who are not a patch on Yaya and never will be, then £40+ million is what we should demand.

Buying a player guarantees nothing. It never has and never will. I've been watching football for long enough to know that.
When we bought him, quite a few wondered if we were buying a dud. We didn't KNOW he'd turn out to be great.
We bought Robinho, that didn't work out so well.
Real bought Kaka - a player we believed could be the signing of the century. Didn't work out too well for him there.

Look at how Tevez IS still doing a great job at Juventus. There's a player who really HAS scored wherever he's played... there was no queue to buy him at anywhere near 40m, and he wasn't 31.

We can demand all we like, but City don't dictate transfer fees, the market does. The market doesn't pay 40m for 31 year old midfielders.

That's why I said practically guarentees. You only have to look at Yaya and Ibrahimovic's CV to see that they have been successful at a number of clubs and have been instrumental in that success. Yaya has proved that he will step up to the mark when it matters.

Tevez was never considered the best player in the world in his position and there are plenty of players who can do a similar role to Tevez. Yaya on the other hand is a unique player. There is no midfielder in the world who can play the way he does, the man has got everything in his locker ability wise.

City might not dictate transfer fees but we do dictate if Yaya stays or goes. Letting him go for anything under £40 million will hinder the squad simple as.

The selling club will have a valuation of the player based on his contract length and importance to the team. As will the buying club. If Barca don't want to meet our valuation then tough shit and Yaya stays.

The cost of getting a suitable replacement for Yaya will cost £30+ million so why sell him for anything less?

You make some fair points, but the cost of replacing Rio Ferdinand will be 30 million too, but they won't be selling him for that.
City's valuation of a player will change IF that player is causing upset. That's my point. If your house is worth 100K and you don't want to sell it, then it might take 120K to persuade you to change your mind. If your house is causing you hassle, you might not sell for 80K, but you WILL sell for the 100K instead.

Once a player kicks up a storm, the balance shifts a little between 'must keep' and 'might sell', and ultimately that can only help the buying club. And that's essentially why the masters of this (Real and Bayern) like to unsettle players prior to putting in an offer for them. It's a years old trick that doesn't always work, but if it does, it's only ever in their favour.

The ranting and raving on this site says far more about the ranters and ravers than it does about their chosen subject of abuse.

Demichelis, Garcia, Dzeko, Mancini, Pellegrini, Tevez, Quinn....and on and on and on it goes.

If you were all as animated when we're actually playing at the Etihad, some of you might actually contribute something useful to our great club.

You sound very Raggish.

The power and influence of the media is on full display in this thread. It is a shame people cannot rise above it.
That's about the 3rd time you've said this, but the media aren't doing anything.

Yaya and his agent have said everything, and anything the papers write are aimed at the laughing stock Yaya has made himself.

That is the point of all this, the media wants to ridicule the club and the player and influence the minds of the masses and there are people that are predisposed to fall for the trap. There has obviously been an incident on social media but you should be fully aware of how that thing works. You should also be aware that Yaya has not said anything himself about the incident, you should also be aware that agents are viruses in football.
Anyway I have repeated it and I will repeat it again, it will all be clear in due time so there is no need to let the media turn you or in many cases encourage you to make conclusions about the situation.
If you think the media are not doing anything or milking this rubbish misunderstanding then you are even a bigger Yaya fan than I actually thought.

Why do fans turn against players when they hear that they want to leave a club, especially the foriegn ones, they are not being disloyal, they were never City fans!!.... even English players and City legends leave eventually, Franny Lee, Dennis Tueart, Peter Barnes, Ian Bishop, all left at some stage, the way it is done nowadays (Through the media, and agents) leaves a sour taste I agree, but clubs do that to players too.

We do feel disappointed because we romanticise the players and convince ourselves they've fallen in love with the club (as we have). Eventually, if the player shows a bit of grace and speaks fondly of us in the years after, they tend to be well liked.

But when players kick up a storm and play silly buggers, that sticks in fans minds. It's just the manner in which things are done that ultimately decides how history will judge them.

They aren't ridiculing the club though, if anything it's all how childish and odd Yaya and his agent have been.

The club's image is taking a hit from Yaya and his agent, nobody else. Even Jamie Redknapp has backed the club.

Also, I fail to see how stating how stupid and disrespectful Yaya and his agent have been makes a huge Yaya fan...
