That's fine if that's the case. However, there's a right way to go about making that happen and then there's the way that Yaya and his agent have gone about it.

Not returning calls. I think he has gone.

Don't believe we would hear anything definitive now until after the World Cup.

We would not want to telegraph our attempts to bring in a replacement with money burning a hole in our pocket.

Toure and his camp have been a disgrace in all this.

The ultimate decision is now with Txiki, not Khaldoon.
Not returning whos calls?

Take your pick, anyone of influence at the club.

To clear something up, City have established Yaya does not post directly onto his Twitter timeline.

He has a PR woman in the UK who felt she was only doing her job by tweeting a downplay of the original Sun interview.

Everything which came after was Seluk/Yaya.

My own opinion (for what it's worth), Yaya just fancies a change of scene, has just overreached and gone about it disgracefully.

For those who (understandably) are trying to defend him (great player and all that)

If the deputy Prime Minister let slip he hated immigrants, yet the Prime Minister decided not to comment or take action, it's a fair bet the Prime Minister is equal of guilt, both by his association and a silence which is taken for legitimacy?

I think we can all appreciate what Yaya has brought to this team, even if he can't see it.

The split opinions in this thread, it would be interesting to see what the age impact is? Those who fear the good times are going to come to a sudden halt, without Yaya in the team?

And those who are a little older and regardless of success, feel the club should always be bigger than any player?

Which is me.
If ever there was a case of dumping a top player in the reserves for 3 years This was it.

It could be that we want him gone but he would ever be sold to a direct rival so I doubt it very much.

What do you expect him to say to French football?

Standard interview guff

You're fast becoming the worst kind of Toure apologist.

Remind yourself who pays his wages. Then ask yourself why in his recent interviews (the ones since the season ended) he has not once bothered to show any level of commitment to City. Not once. IMO the guy is a fucking disgrace and each passing comment uttered from his lips is one step closer to him being shoved out the door and replaced.
I don't think he's said anything of note.

You're being a bit over dramatic

Players of his profile are always being interviewed and asked about clubs. It's throw away comments

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise

And also PSG can pretty well sleepwalk for the entire year in that league and still win. Much less pressure obviously.
So are you saying that there'll be games where he doesn't have to put much effort in?

Re: Yaya Toure

If anything, whoever planned to have the fans stand up to what is probably our most influencuel player last year, they succeeded. Easily.

Re: Yaya Toure

Brilliant a player Yaya is and his contribution to us winning the league is enormous I actually can't bring myself to give a sh1t about this saga.

Footballer and agent acting like scumbags is not new, it's boring and a little depressing.

Seluk is obviously whoring Yaya (with Yaya's permission) to the few clubs who could actually buy him (Real, Barca, PSG and Monaco). No doubt someone is giving them encouragement but also we've seen Seluk talk about a coaching role as well so he is covering the bases rather than fully burning bridges. So he could still stay.

I have enough faith in those in charge at City that whatever happens will be in the best interest of the club. No doubt though that the legacy of this mess is that Yaya and his agent have managed to make one of the best players in the premier league look like a pathetic, preening, disloyal child.

He's definitely not returning mine. I don't think he likes the idea of driving round Adswood in that car.

So basically you'll sit there and blindly defend him until he's sold. Then you'll say he had to go.

Fair enough. Standard fare for Bluemoon.
