I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise

So basically you'll sit there and blindly defend him until he's sold. Then you'll say he had to go.

Fair enough. Standard fare for Bluemoon.
I'm just aware of what has happened, in public, before with Toure, his agent at Barca and City.

Like I said to the last guy who tried to use last year and the year before as a way to excuse this garbage ... Toure's agent put not just the club but it's owners on blast with his comments since the season ended. I for one don't give a shit about how good a player he is, as a group of supporters our loyalties should lie with Sheikh Mansour and co.

This has shades of Mancini/Tevez/Balotelli all over it and the lesson those three learned is that for Abu Dhabi perception and image is as important as talent.

Re: Yaya Toure

I can never understand why some people seem to jump astride some deluded mythical moral high horse, created in their own mind and ego and attempt to slag off threads and the reaction of those threads by fellow City fans.

It is a football forum mainly related to all things Manchester City.On it you will get people with strong and often emotional opinions, even maybe bordering on the hysterical, hey football can do that to you!

This thread, like the Tevez one has ran to a lot of pages because of the same couple of things.A great player saying he wants to leave the club we love,so creating fear and panic and a great player showing a total lack of respect[allegedly] to the same club we love and it's fans, creating anger and perhaps outrage.

If such offends you perhaps you would be better off joining a nice genteel forum discussing the merits of certain fibres of wool used to knit jumpers for varying climates.

Not returning calls. I think he has gone.

Don't believe we would hear anything definitive now until after the World Cup.

We would not want to telegraph our attempts to bring in a replacement with money burning a hole in our pocket.

Toure and his camp have been a disgrace in all this.

The ultimate decision is now with Txiki, not Khaldoon.
Not returning whos calls?
He's definitely not returning mine. I don't think he likes the idea of driving round Adswood in that car.

Haha!

I'm sure it would be considered the height of disrespect.

I've been in New York these last few days, Yaya clearly doesn't realise how big City are becoming.

Every subway I was on had posters about City and buying season tickets for NYCFC.

No it's not. It's from an interview he gave on Tuesday to France Football.

No, it wasn't. They even pasted the exact words he said then. But even than, Yaya aimes PSG. Really ...

Here you all go: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1690256/manchester-cty-yaya-toure-psg-move-possible?cc=5739" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1 ... le?cc=5739</a>

Now do the maths ...

Looks like BillyShears got this one wrong. Its quite evident from the date this is regurgitated news, but nevertheless,Yaya aint done himself any favours whatsoever by keeping schtum.

As fans we don't really know what's going on until months later, and even then you get a biased version of events

If we have learned anything about Tevez, and Mancini, maybe it's not to jump up and down

I'm not going to join in with the hang him and flog him herd whilst I don't know what is going on.

slap a £60m price tag on him and replace him. Sick to death of players behaving like this. The guy was idolised by City fans and would of gone down as a true City legend. Not anymore in my eyes !!

As miserable as it is I have to agree with this, utterly sick of this behaviour. Right after such a fantastic moment, when all the lads at the club seem to be pulling in the same direction, a thing like this happens. Yaya's ability is unquestionable, what he's done for the club is immense, but his attitude has often been a point of contention for me at least and I feel that it's finally in the spotlight. Phrases like "We'll see" "It's all open" "I'll tell you what's going on after the WC" are the sort of things players say in the last year of their contract. The cheeky bugger has got 3 years left. Nothing is open for you Yaya, we're one of the richest clubs on the planet and you signed a damn contract for another 3 more years. It's ridiculous the way him and his agent talk as if they hold all the cards.

I know it's completely too harsh but sometimes I wish we'd keep him just to stick him in with the reserves for a few games, then they'd realise what "disrespect" actually means. It's also annoying because now I feel like it's gone too far. If he stays, we've been dragged through the mud and the media will be littered with "Unhappy Touré upsets City's squad of egos!" headlines and the guy might not even bother playing at 100% (already a rare feat) if he carries on sulking. If we sell him, him and this miserable excuse of a human being that is his agent will win. He gets yet another bumper pay package and proves that, in the modern game, the players are in control, and even those idolised by millions can turn their back on you as if it's nothing.

Re: Yaya Toure

If PSG really do want him then I'd be demanding Verratti + cash. If Monaco do then Moutinho + cash. We can't afford to sell him and have to buy a replacement, as that sort of players costs a kings ransom, even before other clubs know you're desperate. It also is hard to see how much money we could really get for a 31 year old on incredibly high wages who has so publicly forced his way out to of the club. All very annoying, leaves a sour taste on what should of been a remarkable City career

Just for one second, think of the possibility that we want him gone. We want to cash in and rebuild again for the forseable future and that a 31 year old player with a fantastic transfer value is seen as surplus to requirements.

Maybe just maybe Yaya and his agent are really pissed off because they got wind of us not wanting them anymore?

Interesting take, mate, although I don't see it.

You don't need to destroy a legacy like that.

Toure can take his pick, there's no way City would willingly let their name be dragged through the mud like this, just to serve an ultimate agenda.

All Toure had to do was speak directly with City and tell them he had reached the end of the line.

I'm sure all he has done has enabled City to consider the pros of a sale.

31 and 3 years left on our biggest contract with clubs all over Europe that would move heaven and Earth to snap him up makes him our biggest bargaining chip and Txiki has previous of moving out players at the so called top of their game.

Getting rid of Yaya now makes so much sense from a FFP stance.
