North of 40 million pounds. We're looking at the same money Paris have paid for David Luiz as a minimum.

Personally I think that prices Toure out of a move this summer ... but you just never know.

I'd take 40 million quid for Toure all day long. Not without having a decent replacement lined up, and lets not kid ourselves the man to replace Toure has to be decent, but that would be great business for a 31 year old. I imagine with the temper tantrums, Soriano will also remember Ronaldinho, and the point they really should have sold him but chose not to, only to sell him a poor season later for a fraction of the price.

If the money reaches those levels City will sell.

The only thing we don't know right now is what Toure himself is going to do after the world cup. Him and his agent are more than capable of properly throwing their toys out of the pram.

How do you mean?

If we decide not to sell as the money isn't right he does a Tevez and refuses to play? Or just creates such a fuss to try and force us to sell?

I assume they of course will, but I really hope the club have a good idea of what he wants exactly, and what has brought this about? As the mixed messages coming from his agent have been simply bizarre from the point of view of a fan.

I've said all along that I think his gripe with lack of recognition is with the League, not with City- and, to be fair, is a legitimate one considering gerrard was voted higher than him in the Journalists player of the Year. That is nothing to do with City though.

There will be more to it than that- but he clearly has a huge chip on his shoulder about recognition.

Re: Yaya Toure

IF we could get £40m for Yaya we would be doing very well indeed. I doubt anyone will pay more than what we paid for him, which would make it likely he'll still be here next season.

My personal opinion is that Toure has little intention of coming back to City and if we haven't agreed a deal with someone by the end of the world cup i'd expect some kind of full on media assault complete with nonsense about broken promises, unseen disrespect, and a desire to leave Manchester.

He simply doesn't strike me as the kind of character who's going to turn up at preseason ready to work if he doesn't get his move. I hope I'm wrong.

Yep. Well we need to get on with sorting out a quality replacement/(s) depending on how much we can spend. I am sure the wheels will be in motion- but we need to be swift.

As a player I would love him to stay, as I am sure all of us would. But after this, I'm not so sure. It really leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Just down to the farcical nature of the things his agent as much as anything.

MEN reporting this morning that we have no interest in selling him.

I know more than the MEN do about what's going on ... City have named a price for Yaya. Lets see if anyone comes to the party.

What region is the price?

North of 40 million pounds. Although it's not been confirmed by anyone, I've been told that City have already rejected 35 million pounds from PSG.

Re: Yaya Toure

I thought these quotes from Toure regarding PSG are old news and they are from 6 months ago at least.

Just old news being stirred up by the gutter press.

Now have I missed something has he actually said something in the last few days other than "cakegate" to suggest he wants out?

Re: Yaya Toure

Don't sell him.
We don't need the money ultimately and only a rival can afford his fees.
The club needs to lay down a marker here and hold him to his contract or this shit is just going to keep on happening.

I'm not doubting your info but that sort of money for a 31yr old is (virtually?) unheard of. £35M for a 31yr old player who wants to go would be a great bit of business imho.
