Supposing he stays, for whatever reason,.... and this thing blows over, what kind of reception do you think he will get from City fans at the first home game?

A big rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday To You"!
Edit: beaten to it! >:(

Re: Yaya Toure

As much as yayas done himself no favours by not explaining his side of the story and as much as his agents an absolute leech of a human being, I still feel yaya has been, and some would say deservedly so,humiliated by a bored, struggling english sports orientated media.
I still feel this will blow over and yaya will vice captain us to our third title in four years.

Only just seen the PSG comments hadn't seen them before! Coffin. Nail. In.
They were apparently made in an interview (I think) back in January. The media have just decided to lump them all in one without bothering to mention timescales or circumstances. Personally I would ignore the PSG ones as Dzeko had sort of similar recently (although that could have been months ago too) when an Italian media outlet asked him about ever playing in Italy.
Of course the recent cakegate tweets and the rest of the crap is another matter. A TV interview wouldn't come amiss Yaya.

Without a doubt the media do this. They either take old quotes and misleadingly present them as 'current' (without ever expressly claiming it), or they put leading questions to people .e.g. 'what do you think of PSG's success' and the player tries to be polite and says 'I think it's incredible'... then the next day, the headline is 'Player thinks PSG are incredible'.

But still, any player with some decent media training should be able to qualify his comments and sign off any interview with a glowing statement of happiness with City.

When you give an interview saying 'we will see after the world cup' it's glaringly vague (at best) and arguable provocative (at worst).
I think this is where many City fans feel let down by Yaya. He has it in his power to quell all of this nonsense rather easily, and hasn't done so. I don't blame him for media hype, and I don't blame him for not responding to each and every little prod the media make, but I do blame him for making one clear statement and putting it to bed.

He's just turned 31, probably had the best season of his life, personal performance wise.(can't beat the 5 trophies in 1 year at Barca) Got a bit of a chip on his shoulder about being African and not getting the recognition he'd get if from Spain, Brazil, Argentina or Timperley and at his age when considered 1 of the top 5 players in the world wants a last big contract/ signing on fee. IMO he gets enough as it is but worth a try, i'm sure he'll still be here next year! If he does go to PSG how would that look to the FFP? £50m and 500g pw, at least we tried to act responsibly !

Re: Yaya Toure

Daft idea of course , but maybe he just fancies living in Paris more than in Manchester.

I hope for an away game first. If he does well then fine, if not they'll have aright go at the first home game.

He should never have been vice captain ahead of Zab anyway - bang out of order that! - He's hadn't earned the right ahead of Zab and he's a f*cking prima donna ....

Now way do I want to see this stupid c*nt leading the team out in Kompanys absence - that sends the wrong signal totally to the other players, the fans, everybody .... who the f*ck does he think he is ... we own the league, team went to Abu to celebrate and instead we all end up talking about some f*cking childish c*nt who's sulking cos somebody didn't wish him happy birthday ....

Pre-season:

1) Summon Yaya to office top speak with Pellegrini and Khaldoon

2) Tell him he's not going anywhere - he's got 3 years left on contract

3) tell him his barmy agent has no influence on how or what Man City do

3) Tell him Zab will be the vice captain

4) Tell him if his attitude isn't spot on he will 4a) be on bench or 4b) not be selected at all

5) Tell him to stop being a childish, selfish c*nt!
