Here's the thing - we know what Yaya is up to and so do many with common sense, but the typical neanderthal will only read the headlines and it smears the club image badly. Look at some of these replies (Sly Sports' one-sided headline doesn't help).

A world class player and a second class person!

I'm SO disappointed in him seems he doesn't think about the fans or dare I say it his brother because if that was my brother I'd be at his side as much as possible and city wouldn't of minded one bit...

Further to this I wouldn't of gone to the World Cup either if it was someone so close

TBH if he's telling the truth (which I find unbelievable), then he should go because relations are irreparable.

And if he's exploiting his dead brother, then maybe he should go anyway. Some things can't be unsaid.

if it was my brother, i wouldnt give 2 fucks what city or anybody else would say, id be at his bedside, what would of happened to him if he did go awol??, a fine at most, not like he cant afford to pay the fine is it
