Yaya Toure - commits future to City (page 855)

Re: Yaya Toure

I get to wonder if Yaya had already been tapped up by PSG before Borat went off on one. It's not supposed to happen but we all know it does. We had enough trouble with Kia and Willie McKay before him, and we have to accept that this is what agents do. Even so, this story would never have developed in the way it has without Yaya being up for it, and let's be honest about this, football is a nomadic career with very very few one-club players in the game. The one positive thing in this case is that PSG seem to be totally ignoring FFP which means we can get a high price for Yaya. If he is to be sold, I for one will be greatly disappointed if he goes on the cheap, a trend that has gone on far too long with us for far too many seasons and it's time for US to be calling the shots in the marketplace rather than letting others take our trousers down.

Re: Yaya Toure

I know we don't like publicity like this but surely now is the time for the management to say enough is enough and make a statement that shows some balls.

Re: Yaya Toure

I seriously think that City should sell him to PSG or whichever European club wants to pay £40m or higher. For that kind of money City could buy Pogba - not exactly a like for like replacement but one of the closest - then he could be City's midfield anchor for the next 8-9 years, his potential is huge and he could even eclipse Yaya - he is certainly more mobile.

This is the best time to sell him and even more so after all these quotes about other clubs going in for him. He doesn't seem as loyal to City as he should be and for me, he is seemingly the last player to have these childish problems. That's why these stories are annoying the fans so much, because this club had taken huge steps this past season to erase/stamp out all this nonsense. Even if Yaya plays next season, would fans feel as good about him? What if he didn't reach the heights of this year? He's 31 and has just had possibly his greatest season. I say sell him now.

Only once you've clocked out.

I wouldn't feel comfortable keeping you on here at the expense of your work

According to the NewsNow feed, it's being widely reported that Yaya has expressed his an admiration for them and it would be "an honour" to play for them, so I guess something is going on behind the scenes. He could always rubbish it by saying he is perfectly happy staying put, be he has thus far failed to do so, so I think he's off.

Re: Yaya Toure

Gutted that Tolmie has confirmed what we all deep down knew. This episode aside, yaya has been brilliant for us. Time for new younger players to come and make their own stamp on city's history. Reus and Vidal would be immense

"Would I go to Italy? City are a great team. We have just won the Premier League, we want to do better in the next Champions League.

"But I have always thought it would be nice to experience Italy. When, I do not know."

Dzeko has just said words to the affect of what Toure has said...
And Milner hasn't exactly come out and said he's committed to the club in recent weeks either.

Toure's story has just been allowed to boil which means that people looking to be MORALLY OUTRAGED have jumped on it.

It's all good as long as the kitman is happy.

Damn, he's just retired.

MCFC ruining footballing employees since 2014.

Re: Yaya Toure

He has been a total dick in the way he has gone about this but he has been making little noises here and there for a while about going.

I suppose he came here interested in the project[and money] originally but now we are back at the top and he has won everything domestically he probably feels he has gone as far as he can here.

He is 31 and realises we probably won't win the champions league before he retires so wants one last shot at it with a club he thinks has a better chance.

All this could have been done with a behind closed doors chat instead of this utter shite being spouted now,for that he and his agent are utter cunts. As a result Ya Ya has gone from hero to just another footballer doing what he is handsomely paid for instead of any kind of empathy for the club or it's fans. That is what he will now be remembered for.

I could see the Fabregas deal becoming something of a self-fulfilling prophecy?

Sometimes this happens in football, 2+2 can actually make four.

It's an easier deal to conclude because both clubs can agree before the World Cup and then claim who got the better end of the deal.

I am also aware Txiki went on record in Spain, last month, suggesting he would take Fabregas "in a heartbeat" should he be made available.

It all stacks up, and I have already suggested that we might have pulled a flanker by letting Seluk think he had strong-armed us into a new four-year deal last summer.

There's only two clubs he could end up at, Barca or Paris, Yaya knows it, we know it.

I believe the sale of Yaya is being allowed to permeate, thanks to his stupid sanctioning of his agent.

For City, if Paris want to gatecrash a Fabregas deal, we get top dollar, but Barca would then play hard ball on a fee throughout the summer.

All roads lead to Barca IMO.

edit: to take this through to a conclusion as to whether Fabregas would actually be receptive to Manchester?

Silva, Navas, Negredo, Nasri, Clichy, Sagna, Van Persie, Mata, De Gea.

I think it's even simpler than that. Barca want Fabregas gone ... and his buyout according to informed sources is 40 million euros.

We can sell yaya wherever we want and go activate the Fabregas clause. My gut feeling is that Barca won't do the swap for Yaya because they'd rather take the cash we offer them and not splurge the whole thing on one midfielder. More likely they'll go and get Herrara for around half that price. They need money but they don't need over 30's on huge wages.

I agree that we probably won't win the CL before he retires but you can never be sure of these things - even the most biased of City fans will admit that we've under-achieved in it so far but things could be entirely different next season. Pellegrini has taken weaker sides than ours to within a whisker of the final and semis, and an unfancied Chelsea won it. On the flip side, Barca didn't win their first European Cup until 1992 and it's just taken Real Madrid 12 years to win it after the last time they triumphed so if Yaya really is after a better shot of winning the CL it's far from a guarantee for whichever club he may have designs on signing for.

Re: Yaya Toure

In case it's not been mentioned before (apologies if it has) but unless he retires from international football after the World Cup Yaya will be going AWOL to ACON for 6 weeks next January/February. If he wants to go let him go and let some other club get stuck with his absence during potentially a very busy part of the season.

Re: Yaya Toure

Didn't yaya make those comments about playing psg a few month ago? If these are fresh quotes then I take it his position has come untenable at the club after what his and his agent have had to say and the club have informed him they ain't happy thats why he's arse licking psg and I'm sure there will be a few other clubs receiving his tonque before this saga is over!

You would of thought the best time to realise that would of been just before he penned a four year deal
