Re: Yaya Toure

"Everything is fine now. There was a lot of speculation about people sending me away and people were sending me everywhere.

"I think sometimes it can be disappointing and I need to do something for the fans because people love me and people want to hear about what is happening. So it’s important as well to keep them in a good way and let them know that the team are preparing well and we’ll try to do it again next year."

is it just me or does that sound like it was his agent hawking him around and yaya was forced into keeping quiet?

This is good news for us.

Yes he acted like a twat but lets keep it in perspective, he hasn't bitten anyone, beaten up his girlfriend, twatted a DJ or jumped out of a window to avoid a drug test; I could go on…

We don't have to condone what he did but he hasn't done anything unforgivable in my book, and I'd rather have him playing for us than for someone else.

As for those blue shorts though...

Unfortunately this still won't please the anti crowd. " why did this take so long?" 'Hes only staying because no offers came in!' Types.

Wind your fucking neck in you antagonistic idiot.
If people wanted to be pissed of they had every fucking right so shut the fuck up with your barbed shitty comments.

You sound really upset......don't worry most fans are delighted if he really is staying. Also, people are entitled to be pissed off at your attitude of having a divine right to be the sole arbiter of City opinion and then slag others off just as oyu ahve so elequently done here. If you and others can't put this to bed now then you are the ones direspecting the club. Unless there is a sudden change of mind by the player/agent the storm in a tea cup is over.

A far more pertinent and intersting subject though is what is City's future planning regading replacing YaYa. Depending on his role and number of games he has to play he might have up to 2 seasons at his best so the issue of replacing him needs to be managed properly and hope the club can do this. It may well need a slightly different way of playing given there is barely any other player like him currently playing. Barkely running at defences is exciting but he does not in my view have the ability to control a game like Ya Ya does but at the moment he would be my pick with a bit of tweaking around him.

Upset? not at all, pissed of with those who aim barbed pissy comments at others for having a differing opinion? yes.
You talk a lot but say nothing.

Your post also highlights the fact you hear what you want to and nothing more. I and others have said numerous occasions we are pretty indifferent to him staying, look the word up some time.

Is our relationship with PSG still strained ? I wonder if they encouraged Yaya and his agent, but had no intention of signing him and just wanted to do a bit of shit stirring.

I'm glad he's staying, at least for this season. A replacement would have been nigh on impossible to get with our current transfer restrictions.

As for Yaya, he's made himself look a **** and if we sell him next year I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

At least we got a "Yaya snubs rags" story out of it.

Pretty much yeah.

So Toure flashes his knickers to all and sundry across Europe. When everyone takes a look at the cost, they all politely tell him and his agent no thanks. He comes back to City with his ego between his legs. Absolute fucking tosser.

He needs to make sure he does it on the pitch next season. Beyond that I'm not arsed one bit about it.

He is staying because he has to and if he wanted to stay he could have put us all out of our misery before the world cup.I'm not taken in with his words,if PSG had put down an offer he would have gone imo
Glad he is staying for this season but any of this nonsense for a 3rd season running and i will kick him out myself

Maybe his pubes were hanging out?

He's made a complete and utter dick of himself this summer but football, like politics, is a career in which you can do that and get away with it.

Yup. Coming up shortly, fan presents Ya Ya with a cake - with TV crew handily placed - lots of false bonhomie and forced smiles, followed perhaps by an interview with Piers Moron, whilst holding a freshly peeled onion........

The underlying issue we have now is the fallout from this.

Imagine, every time we are losing/drawing, how many times the likes of Jamie Redknapp are going to bring up "all the speculation in the summer and he doesn't look interested to me". Then Shearer will repeat the nonsense later on.

They will conveniently forget Yaya barely looks interested in every minute of his life, but now because of this, we're gonna hear this EVERY time we're on TV.

Annoying.
