I say again mate, how can we possibly have agreed a deal with the player, as reported by Laporte, unless we have agree a deal with the club re price?

He just wouldnt allow us to speak to him.

Methinks Laporte is telling porkies

Yeah thats the norm to agree fee with the selling club but this is barca and they don't do normal lol, if a fee had been agreed what would be the hold up??

I think this is more to do with the world cup, once players are in South Africa i doubt the players will be allowed to be distracted with transfers. With this one Barca need the money to fund Fabregras so if everything is in place other than the fee,the deals can still be sorted while the players are still on international duty.I would imagine Fabegras`s agent has already sorted out his contract with Barca,so everything will be done without the players needed to be involved.

Both Barca and us want to do business otherwise he wouldn`t have agreed terms,it`s just a matter of haggling now me thinks.

Well agent and Barca management are saying much the same. Whether the talks were sanctioned who knows, but we all know this is how it works. Remember the Ronaldo transfer. Real Madrid must have been in contact with him for months but possibly indirectly. I think clubs accept this goes on and its impossible to stop

Of course it goes on mate but its with the clubs knowing as well.

Laporte is full of shit, just trying to play hard ball over Cesc
If we give Barca the finance to prise Cesc from Arsenal we kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Way I look at is we do whatever it takes to get City into the top 2-3 then when we are there we can start to play hardball with transfers. There aren't many players of Toure's calibre who become available. I accept that Barca have their own transfer agenda and this deal may get linked to their own business

A good example of all this was last summer with the Terry saga:

Chelsea agree fee
We speak to Terry
He agrees to join verbally
Chelsea go on USA Tour
Terry changes his mind
Chelsea say fee not agreed to save face to fans

If Terry would of come back off the tour still wanting to sign he would of been a City player.

What ever happened in USA was a blessing in disguise tbh

I agree mate and i say again, certain a deal is agreed at a price that suits barca, all he is doing now is unsettling Cesc and Arsenal further.

-- Fri Jun 04, 2010 9:37 pm --

There must be some irony in having an English Barca forum ffs?!
The irony starts when a foreigner has a pop at someone because that someone is also a foreigner

I'd hate to see Toure go to Chelsea or Citeh. Citeh because it would help them win things(which I never want to see as I hate the way they will be doing this via a foreign owner and not a local business man) and selling Toure to Chelsea would give them extra power in the Champions league next season. Chelsea may not be in rival in terms of the battles with Espanyol and Real Madrid, but they are a rival in the way that they are one of the biggest threats towards Barcelonas european chances. I personally don't see how Pep can favour the little diving drama queen Busquets over Toure, as Toure offers something different to the midfield, he offers a psychical pressence and does a great job of picking up the pieces in the midfield, which to me, every successfull team needs in their midfield. Busquets will get better though and in the future may become an even better player than Toure. Giving chances to La Masia products is great, but I liked Toure and thought he was more key to the team then people give him credit for.

Just registered to reply, but it gets moderated 1st so maybe my reply won`t be shown.

I no longer understand the word irony. All the feckers on here have polluted my mind with the incorrect use of the word.....i think.

Is irony something to do with your bird and some creased clothes?
