This deal is far from dead. City are doing what they should have done last sumemr, and being clever about buys.

Other clubs need our money, more than we need the player. Barca, need this money to fund Cesc, and they need Yayas wages off the books. They cant have him sat there earning £85K.

Arsenal might propose a swap deal, but if they do that our money becomes irrelevant, as that would most likely be the favoured deal for both clubs and the players.

We need to play transfers this season with strategy and pateince. If we go flying in with an open cheque book like we did last summer, other clubs will have our pants down, and we will never earn any respect as a club.

Well said that man. Yaya's a great player, but he's not the only fish in the sea. We need to offer what we feel to be a fair price, and if that's not enough we move on and wish him well at Arsenal.

Confusing messages for me.

We are told - through leaked bids from other clubs, and through trustworthy contacts - that we're making huge bids for some of the top players in the world.

But now the message is Value.

You can't square that. Chelsea found that, and to an extent in the past so did Utd.

I think perhaps the agent is upping the ante - and his version does not reflect our intentions. Would be a very big mistake if we pull out of Yaya deal on grounds of money, and then end up buying lesser players for more monies in the future

Get the right players on the pitch now, and it will save us in the future.

Lesser players end up being replaced at a big loss.

i am enormously happy this situation has arisen. we now have a manager who ls savvy in the transfer market, just look at the boateng interview on the os. he talks about the future, fighting for a place and the manager's ambitions. let's build a GREAT TEAM not just great names on mega money. Rocky, Robbie and kolo are examples of the old regime, while jerome and johnno are examples of the new 1.

I very much doubt this has anything to do with the manager mate. He won't have any input into price, he won't care.

i dont even personally believe he has all the input into who we are signing.
