Yaya Toure [Merged]

Just been doing some reading about the Barcelona FC presidential election on the 13th. It sounds like Laporta's hand picked candidate is going to lose and his arch rival, Sandro Rosell, is going to walk it.

eg. <a class="postlink" href="http://fourfourtwo.com/blogs/laligaloca/archive/2010/06/03/rosell-preparing-to-end-former-friend-laporta-s-reign-at-barca.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://fourfourtwo.com/blogs/laligaloca ... barca.aspx</a>

Like Laporta, Rosell also wants Cesc, but he is running on a platform that the teams debt is way too large (he claims its 629 million euros, not in the 200 million range that the incumbent claims). If they buy Cesc, they will HAVE to do some selling. It won't be an option.

Like our own Garry Cook, he is also a former Nike executive.

Maybe Cook is waiting until next Monday to do the real negotiating.

Probably a lot of truth in that. Cook and Rosell were power players at Nike in North and South America at the same time so they, without question, will no each other very well.

I'd never really thought about that connection - but having thought about it now, it would make sense for him to want to deal with Sandro rather than Laporta...

Sounds like we dodged a mercenary bullet here, if he comes, good we have a good player in a much needed position, but i'd rather we forget about mercenary cnuts like him and his agent and go for players willing to come here for more than just money

Cant agree more. I was keen initially but its sounds like this guy could turn out to be a cock of Robinho like proportions.

Defianately going off the idea of this one doesnt sit right, hes third choice at Barca cant get in their team yet they want us to pay them enough to sign Fabragas for him.

Sounds like he only wants the money not interested in playing football. Prefer Masc from Liverpool or Diarra for less money personally. Proven and probably at this stage better players for us.

Bet they wont be barred from entering European competitions.

Re: Yaya Can **** Off

Why is this quote a problem? It's unbelieveable what paranoia some of you lot have.

This quote says three things to me.

We are in for Toure.
We are playing hardball over the fee
The move could well happen

How does that translate to "yaya can fuck off". Unbelievable.

Same Real, Milan clubs, Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool etc etc etc.

Rules have been rigged so they dont effect the big clubs but we all know the score.

I suppose its probably because of how scathing the quotes attributed to the agent are. In fairness they are at best, extremely inflammatory at worst downright libelous.

Re: Yaya Can **** Off

Not really I just think people are wiseing up we dont want anymore idiots at the club.

The simiple fact is there are better players available for less money, plus Barca want us to pay for Fabragas for them.
