Yaya Toure [Merged]

Re: Yaya

just saw the end of guillem balague on ssn there, did anyone hear neting he said??did he mention city and toure???just cot the last bit about fabregas

Re: Yaya

Excellent signing if this comes to fruition. I'd like to see Martinez next and that'd complete our midfield (for the time being at least). Maybe a winger but hopefully SWP/Bellers/AJ can fulfill those roles ok for next season.

Really happy so far, Boateng and Toure should be excellent additions to our squad. How anybody can moan is beyond me.

Re: Yaya

I would take Yaya and Martinez if possible. Yaya gives us some much needed height in the central midfield area which we lack with De Jong. How he will accomodate both i dont know but we are lacking some top quality midfielders. Ireland isnt good enough, Michael Johnson could be a top class player but we need to bring in someone who is fit. If i was offered Martinez or a fully fit Johnson id take Johnson every day of the week but i think we need another option as last season we missed Johnson so much because we had no drive from midfield. Obviously if we have MJ, Martinez, Barry, De Jong and Yaya someone will have to miss out but we are going to get injuries and suspensions so i think we need to bring in 2 more centre mids preferably not Milner

Just goes to show you watch thru blue tinted glasses. MJ has played some good games for City but Martinez is stronger, faster and has got the lot and has been doing it regularly for Bilbao to the extent that Javi is on both Barca's and Madrid's radar.

Not at all mate, i really rate Johnson and he has the potential to be a future england player but thats if he can stay fit and lose the weight hes put on. I do think Martinez is a good player and ive watched him a lot and been impressed but as Johnson has played in the premier league id side with him. Just because Martinez is big and strong doesnt mean he will be a success here because a lot of players have failed in the past but if he does adapt to the premier league then we could have two world class players in our midfield

Wouldn't think Barca need him tbh.

Which is why we should get him, they're both young so that would be our future midfield.

Yes but Mancini would use one holding midfielder, two tops, and two proper midfielders in the 3, then have a creative player behind the strikers. Not a defender and two holding midfielders in the 3 and Yaya as the creative player.

Yes but you said the formation was bad not the team selection.

Fancy being a bit more picky lol ;)
