Yaya Toure will seal a move to Manchester City in the next few days and is set to be a key player at Eastlands, according to the player's agent.
The Ivory Coast midfielder was expected to seal a move earlier this month, but the player's participation in the World Cup and the change of presidents at Barcelona have slowed down the transfer. New Barca chief Sandro Rosell takes over from outgoing president Joan Laporta on Thursday and the move should be finalised shortly after that.
"I think we will have a solution this week. In fact, I would say that (it will be done) on the first or second of July - maybe on the second because the first will be a very busy day at Barca with the change of president," agent Dimitri Seluk told Sport.
Seluk revealed he will speak to Rosell, but insisted his player's mind is made up to leave Barca and join City.
"Yes, we have to talk, but of course, the reality is not going to change in one moment," he said.
"Yaya wants to play the important games and he knows that he will be an important player at Manchester City.
"It is not a money problem, as I have said 1,000 times, but a problem of (the lack of) confidence (that Barca have in him)."
Seluk said nothing had been signed yet, but claimed Toure's salary demands were reasonable.
"I haven't signed anything. However, Yaya doesn't have an astronomical salary, not at all, so it won't be difficult to be reach an agreement," he said.

Something smells fishy here, the agent is insistent on publicly naming us but saying Yaya hasn't signed yet at almost every opportunity... almost as if he's desperately trying to drum a last minute bid from the big clubs.
Having said that, I still think we'll get him.

Agreed. The agent is trying to drum up interest from elsewhere, even saying his wage demands are reasonable so as not to frighten anyone off. At the end of the day it's an Agents job to get the best deal so if he can get another club or clubs interested then he can play one off against the other to get a better deal for his client (and him).
It doesn't mean Yaya doesn't want to come or that he won't come. Personally I think the odds are he will be with us very soon.

got to say signing yaya is a massive mistake. we will now have lots of midfielders and i fear De Jong may well move on which for us is bad as he is the best in his position in europe and a real fighter. yaya is not the same player and i think we will lose a real talent

dont think theres anything over the top to worry about to be honest? barca have always said that they wouldnt force yaya to leave but cant give him the game time he wants.seem to remeber his agent saying the same sort of thing a few weeks back.larderland said:UH OH!!

wouldnt read too much into that , they wanted it done before 30th so as to make this years profits look better , its not happening until the new bloke comes in on thursday so reckon nothing has changed .
