For what it's worth I predominantly credit the manager for 2012 - but that's life.Apparently some anti-yaya campaigners here credit the 2011/2012 title win to Carlos Tevez and not Yaya, as Yaya was nothing but a passenger through ot his time at City. I am truly disappointed at what some City fans have showed on this thread. The bias and hatred is just disgusting.

Yaya on his game was one of the greatest midfielders the game has ever seen. He had virtually everything: speed, brutal strength, amazing control and passing, superb ball retention, a great finisher, amazing at set pieces (especially penalties).
He was that good, albeit too infrequently, and not enough in Europe to be a true great of the game.
Yaya's finishing ability didn't get the recognition it deserved. He was a genuine world class finisher, in my opinion.

Yeh - This is the one that I can't get passed which is very disrespectful to the club.........Can't you fucking read,he said the club stopped him from seeing his dying brother,disrespected him by not celebrating his birthday when there is footage of him being given a massive cake on the plane and calling our manager a racist

Cool as ice and usually hard and low in the corner.Yaya's finishing ability didn't get the recognition it deserved. He was a genuine world class finisher, in my opinion.
The other point I meant to amplify on my post (but couldn't be arsed) was in relation to his passing, as his range was simply amazing; short and long.

People talk about Vieira, Petit and Essien as being among the best ever midfielders from overseas to play in the Prem. I don't think they were anywhere near as good as Yaya. Different players, granted. However, given the choice of buying any of those three or Yaya in their mid-twenties, it would be a straightforward choice for me (blue tinted specs off).

All three you mentioned were more consistent than Yaya.
All four were great players.
One was more of a bellend than the others.

We are all entitled to an opinion.
Consistency? Essien's peak was very short so not sure where you got that from.
Yaya was a bellend but he was our bellend. It does not mean that he wasn't a brilliant footballer (- the point that was being made).
