Yaya Toure Retires - City Legend and one of the Best ever

These forums are for opinions, and I've no doubt seen both players live more than the majority of the people getting arsey, but they're entitled to their opinion. I won't hijack this thread any more, as it takes away the spotlight from Yaya.

Are you just a clown or do you practice it.

Seen them both live more than others! You more less said in a reply that you are at best in your teens, when you did not know some of the players i put in a top 10 before Yaya as legends.

You mix the two up, very good player and legend. They are not the same.

Your young, you should know how to do a poll, create one and let's see. Silva or Yaya - who is a City legend?

See you at Brighton, its live

Amazing player who gave us many great moments to cherish for a long time. His contribution to city easily outweighs his agent shenanigans. Hope he has a good managerial career.

The greatest!

Took a little while to settle in but I remember a game in December 2010 at West Ham where, for the first time, he completely took control of the game. He bossed it, got a brace in a 1-3 win and I thought “woah hang on, what a player we’ve got here!”

From then on he was immense right up until the season when we won the title in 2014 where he was by far the best player in the country and should have easily won POTS.

For me, I don’t give a shit what people do or say, it’s what they do on the pitch that matters. And he is remembered by me for some of the biggest moments in the club’s history.

He’s the man who scored on the day everything changed. That winner he scored in the 2011 FA Cup semifinal against the Rags is the day Manchester Football changed forever.

He had an immense season the season we won the title in 2012. The two goals at Newcastle keeping it in our hands going into the last game.

He scored arguably the most beautiful goal I’ve ever seen to get us back in it in the 2014 League Cup final.

He was even better than 2012 in the season we won the title in 2014. I reckon the third best player in Europe that season.

And although his legs went and his fitness went, he still managed to come up with a defining performance, took no shit from Lallana and scored the winning penalty in the 2016 League Cup final.

Gnégnéri Yaya Touré, you are a Manchester City legend, I salute you Sir!

Enjoy retirement!

And well done to Roberto Mancini and Brian Marwood for signing him. He was the catalyst for everything good that happened. He was the name everyone wanted to come and play with.
