Something is really fishy here..One day he says he loves us and wants to finish his career here, the next his agent comes out with this shit? I don't know if he wants more money (more than what he is earning now, come on..?) but no one will give it to him in my opinion. If he wants more money indeed he can go play in Russia..
It won't be the money per se, it'll be the length and guarantees of the contract. There's no way he should be guaranteed to earn £200,000+ when he's 34/35. That particular bridge should be crossed when we get to it.

And the thing about City not putting up pictures of Yaya around the ground or pushing his merchandise in the shop likely stems from some ridiculously prohibitive image rights clause that this tit Seluk negotiated himself. Because there's way City would voluntarily ignore his contribution like that.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

I would just like to know if all those saying Yaya is the best midfielder, worth 40mil etc, are season card holders, do they go to matches, do they wear thick rims, back row 3rd tier.

As soon as he signs 5yr deal at 220k, he becomes worthless. If we are to become a world force we need to invest in youth. Not in someone gasping for breath after 20mins.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

While I think Yaya Toure is the best midfielder in the world, signing him on for another 4-5 years is completely irresponsible. As others have said, paying a 32 year old 225,000 a week, is fucking ridiculous - the club needs to stand strong on this.

I've got the thick rims, but I'm at the front of the third tier! I've got me ST but I ain't saying owt about Yaya. I simply slide the rule over each performance and then come to a conclusion. The current conclusion I'm toying with is that Yaya, along with much of the squad, have done insufficient this season to which I could attach the accolade 'best'!

the last line had me laughing, but i get your gist

no way should we give yaya a 5 yr contract, 2 at most then see how the land lies

currently he one of the spine of the team and right here right now we need him

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

On a vaguely related theme, why don't we make better use of our existing resources. For example, when Micah Richards returns at right back, why not move Zabaleta into the defensive midfield to become our Yaya-like engine. To me, Zaba is under-utilised in his current position. Just a thought.

Not good enough on the ball.

Its quite simple, when you aspire to be one of the top clubs in the world, you don't play a hard working full back, as your linch pin in midfield, not when you have a player who's one of the best in the world in that position (on his day).

no wonder he got a headache

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

IGNORE THE SHIT FROM HIS SO CALLED AGENT !!
SB from the MEN reports that Seluk is NOT officially Yayas agent - he is not a registered FIFA Agent - but he habitually sounds off on the players behalf.
SB also understands that contract talks will not start until the summer, but City are confident that Yaya will sign.
As SB reports this so called agent has "previous" when it comes to sounding off about contracts and how apparently clubs are not "treating Yaya with respect"
