Matt I agree we aren't as good without him.

However, it would only be a 'disaster' if we didn't replace him appropriately or use his fee/wage savings to substantially improve another area of the first 11.

Also, one way or another, he will need replacing eventually so in my opinion it'd be much wiser to 'cash in' now rather than 2 or 3 years down the line when he will be worth fuck all.

If someone came in with a 25m bid I think City would bite both their hands off.

Are you crazy? 25m for Yaya? What kind of player do you think we could buy to replace him with 25m? We paid 20 for Garcia and he's mediacre at best. Munich paid 35 for J. Martinez and he's not the offensive player yaya is. 40m for him is the least we can take for him. Anything less than that means we will have to spend double what we got for him to replace him. Why sell a proven player plus 20m for a non-proven player? We need to add to the roster not exchance one player for another.

Garcia was 16m.

The rest of your post is unintelligible.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

Doubt Yaya would go for more than 30mil max now purely because of his age, last big contract to sign this is for him.

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

We supposedly don't discuss contracts during the season, so this agent is basically talking shite, and if anything turning fans against Yaya, rather than getting support for him.

Toure is basically looking for his big final pay day, similar to what De Jong did. As when he signs this next contract, the contract after, he will be way into his 30's and will probably be on a downward trajectory and will have too take a big drop. In all honesty I don't blame them, but he is going about it on totally the wrong way, especially as he's recently missed (again) most of January due to ACON, and has been playing way below his ability for majority of this season.

Price tag if we sold him would be probably 15m, max. 30 would never command a big transfer fee.

Oh well, it looks I have to do it...

He is 22, he is easily worth 25 millions just now, brilliant player. When his current contract ends, he'll be 26-27 and will have quite enough time to sign another one while still being in his prime. And then eventually to sign another one by being year or two older than Yaya is now.

That means Chelsea won't have to pay another 25 millions to some other Lille to acquire player of his quality when his initial contract runs out and as such he is worth 50 millions right now, injuries aside.

And that's the reason why I would personally swap him tonight for Yaya if Chelsea would be mental enough to accept that deal. And they, of course, are not.

Hope it's clear now.
I guess you are talking about Hazard.

A month ago I was thinking we dodged a bullet their.

He started the season well, had a mid-season slump, but in recent weeks he has returned with a bang. At this moment Bale and Hazard are the best players in the Premiership. Hazard has been inconsistent.

I hope Yaya stays, but this season he hasn't been at the same level as last season, and at his age he would not attract a huge fee as he has no resale value

Yeah, it's Hazard. Brilliant player, indeed. I respect that City refused to bend over his agent demands but if they haven't I'd close my eyes, he's so good.

Inconsistency was something to be expected in his first year, being young and with all that was happening at Chelsea but there's class all over him, and years in front of him.
I agree. He's got so much talent. Just glides past players. Wish we had bought him

Ya Ya is a big game player and we need to keep him.

You can argue about his relative form this season compared to last season's but at the end of the day there isn't one club in the league that wouldn't have him straight in their team.

He is to us what Michael Essien was to Chelsea. On his day, his drive, power and vision makes him virtually unplayable. He is irreplaceable, there isn't another player like him around.

There will always be an element of posturing from players, agents and clubs when dealing with the contracts of big name players around his age. The press especially love to magnify any apparent division between the parties. It is something we as fans will have to get used to reading about. But we do need to keep him.
Good Post!

Can the mods merge with this thread please - <a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=279666&p=6569645&hilit=mistake#p6569645" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=1&t=279666&p=6569645&hilit=mistake#p6569645</a> as that is what it will be.

City should be doing all they can to sign him up for the next 4/5 years. He is a unique player that EVERYONE in the world would sign at this moment.

The two spanish amigo's are starting to piss me off. They want to turn us into a mini Barca, we aren't Barca! We are Manchester City!

Re: Yaya's agent says he is ready to quit...

Yaya is the best midfielder in Britain also one of the best in Europe, 20mill don't make me laugh? Got to be a start at 40, you do not sell yaya unless someone better is coming in for his position? Otherwise pay the guy.
