Yaya Toure

He didn't have the same Agent:-) but still £25,000 was a good fee back then..

Anyone that saw Buzzer play in the last couple of seasons could see his pace and power were going? What like Yaya...

be sure to contact Gary James when he writes about our club's rise because if he puts Legend (which he is) in it he will piss off you and a few on here..
Yaya will be remembered for a very long time as one of the most significant players of this era. No need to wait for a few years, I included a few brief lines saying as much in yesterday's match programme. Hart, Zab, Kompany, Aguero, Silva and Yaya were mentioned and Yaya will be seen as one of the driving forces that made City a trophy winning side. He helped give us the winning mentality. I wouldn't directly want to compare any player from this, our most consistent title challenging era (though it doesn't always feel like that), with any other period, but for every Summerbee there were other 'legends' that did try to engineer moves. Even Dennis Tueart has openly talked of almost joining Tommy Doc's Utd and looking for moves elsewhere but is still idolised by many of us (much of his desire to move made it into the press at the time). No point comparing, let's just recognise the talented players who have helped make us successful - yesterday was a great example if how our expectations have changed. Not so long ago winning a trophy, drawing with Arsenal and qualifying on merit for a Euro comp (any Euro comp!) would've bee seen as one of our best ever seasons, but now we all feel let down. That's how far we've come - it hurts of course.

I think his image is more like mourinho ..he will be remembered more for his off field tantrums and stupid interviews by him and his agent rather than what he delivered on field ..don't be surprised if he or his agent give a parting shot to us after last league game , again reminding us that he did us favour by joining us or we were inferior to rags when he joined or what not ..

He has his agent to thank for that. More than half the time, the bulls*** supposedly spouted by Yaya are always quotes from his agent. That agent is a plague to football and detriment to Yaya's image.

He isn't interested in his client creating 'legends' or 'glory', but more of Yaya netting him that hefty commission.

Thanks for some perspective. Some people clearly lack it.

I'm all for being disappointed we don't go unbeaten and win every trophy, but by comparison, we are the a BEST TEAM IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL FOR THE PAST FIVE SEASONS...that's not too shabby, even with a "disappointing season" this year!

That's basically what I wrote in yesterday's programme. Chelsea and City have both won 5 trophies since summer 2010 but city have been more consistent in the League - 3,1,2,1,2 - so far.

Do you go to every single home game?

Our win percentage with & without him tells the whole story.

Love him or hate him, he is the best signing since the take over.

No mate, I live in Chicago, but I WATCH every single game. I missed three home games last season, but went away for a few to make up for it...and missed a few more this season due to a change in working status. I let my brother's wife or foster child use my SC when I can't make it....if that's OK with you, like?!

Enjoyed going to Madrid, though, did you? About 11 hours each way for 90 minutes of football seems like it might qualify as "being a fan who likes to watch City" dontcha think? Probably had a season ticket before you were born.

BTW, what is the reason for the question? Do I have to go to every game to have an informed opinion?
