Yaya Toure

Hart has been much more consistent, has either saved us a draw or a win more often and even in defeat, has stopped a loss being turned into a rout.
Has also wears his heart on his sleeve and loves the club. Never disrespected us even when he was dropped.

No im not saying that, and he played in front of a two in Madrid. Feel free to find the clip that was doing the rounds of him standing still like a bell end whilst Madrid played their way round him. Whilst I agree he may of not been in his position much, when he has he hasn't ripped up any trees
Against Madrid he was coming back from injury toward the end of a long hard season. That wasn't a game for Yaya to start imo, but I can understand Pellegrini doing so in the circumstances with the benefit of having seen him in training, but 10 minutes in it was blatantly obvious Yaya wasn't fit enough to start but yet we persisted.

After 30 minutes we were crying out for a change, but I doubt Manuel is the type of manager who would risk upsetting a player for the good of the team, in fact I know this as he said he would rather lose a final than break his word to a player and that would probably extend to upsetting players too.

The obvious move for me would have been to bring on Sterling for Yaya and push KDB inside. Any fan who knows our team could have made that call, but Manuel rinsed out an already pedestrian Yaya further before making that change. Again I don't blame an obviously unfit Yaya, at his age he should be treated like Juve treated Pirlo in the twilight of his career.

They managed to prolong his top level playing career by 4 years by protecting him with additional legs around him to do his running whilst Pirlo was then left to do what he does best. That is how you manage ageing special talents not by rinsing them out in a midfield two in the most physically demanding league in the world.

Hart is too hot or cold for me to be concidered city greatest player which at the moment this thread seems to be about . Big Joe was much a better keeper in my old eyes too

If all that was true Dribble, I'm sure yaya, or more likely his agent, would have had something to say about it.
He hasn't given me the impression of someone who's prepared to do something against his will.

Magnificent player! And based on my personal experience of seeing City players in the flesh at matches since late 89 and onwards, he is the best ever player to put on our shirt.

I know people list his important goals and other game changing moments, but I'll always remember Yaya for his perfectly weighted passes, whether long or short, the team passing seemed to revolve around him and anything important in a game seemed to go through him first.

That was during the Mancini days mostly though, as soon as I saw the first game at home under this current fraud of a manager and realized we were no longer going to play the passing/possession game, I just knew it would affect Yaya badly, this current style of play (whatever it is), just doesn't suit Yaya's natural game.

Plus he's also ageing and becoming more injury prone, so eventually Yaya's performances would always start to dip from his imperious best, which is a sad sight to see.

Yaya will always have my best wishes and be fondly remembered as one of the greatest players to play for this club, in my opinion.

I think he was a great player for us but I just dont agree that Pellegrini was bad for his style of play he had a brilliant season in Pellegrinis first season as manager.
His legs have gone at the top level for the game he is best at .

Agree and it wasn't just a brilliant season, it was the best season he's had in his career.

Completely different players though. You could do that with Pirlo as his game wasn't bombing forward and bullying defenders. Yayas game was his legs and his bursts, if that's gone then his game has gone. He has also had Fernandinho doing his leg work anyway

you think if YAYA is bowing out then it should be in style and play his last match for Manchester city giving is all and scoring one of them wonder strikes

for me yaya is going down in history at Manchester city and will be looked back on with the tag of a LEGEND and with his goals winning silverware and titles is there for all to see. even the media who battered him with greed and only here for the money YAYA TOURE £200.000 A WEEK. well in my book that's cheap for all the things he did when city needed that little something more and that bit of magic and power and goals that's what money buys the big clubs like united Chelsea arsenal all had to pay for that little bit more

lets see if he bust a gut for us against the swans if he plays. if he does we will be in champs lg, if not we might not be and hes just playing for himself
