Yaya's Goal - Was It Really "Out Of Nowhere"?

Don't think it was pre planned. Don't think Zaba was deliberately trying to set him up for a shot. But the pass was just the right pace for Yaya to fancy the shot.

It looked a very well worked out drill to me

My thought was that he took it exactly like one of his free kicks. The concentration on the ball, the target very top LH corner. Not sure the rest of it was planned but as Sunderland were getting tired and City marching forward it's the sort of positional set that wouldn't be unexpected.

First day back in work since the win, and the first thing out of a rags mouth "there's no way toure was shouting, its a cross gone wrong" he's absolutely adamant, and its getting very heated in here already

Just watched the clip and then thought I'd watch the last ten minutes upto the Navas goal.

Jeez wept! If will and words from the commentary box scored goals we'd have lost that game 4-3. Tyler and RatBoy, at every turn, every touch of the ball from Dzeko getting a yellow card for walking off in 'the slowest walk ever' to 'breaking Sunderland hearts! Kinell!!

At one point, RatBoy suggested that Sunderland had been the better team and that it was just individual brilliance that put us at 2-1. I wonder had his beloved Swamp Donkeys seen off Sunderland in the semi with 'just individual brilliance' it would have been different. What a pair of fuckin' arseholes ever to share a mike!

You can understand why some would think it but I'll give Yaya the benefit of the doubt because he hit it like he hits his free kicks so that's what makes me think he meant it.

I also think this is very perceptive ;-)

I dont think the OP is trying to say that every touch from the free-kick was planned.

The initial free-kick set piece fell apart due to a bad lay off by Silva and Sunderland chasing the ball out. But Yaya held his position hoping to get another chance. He asked for the ball back from Zabba and he pinged it first time.

Theres no doubt it was a shot. That was exactly the position he wa hoping to shoot from in the first instance.

Well played Yaya. Technically brilliant and extremely intelligent play.

-- Tue Mar 04, 2014 11:16 am --

Can I suggest that you just accept his argument and smile. Then ask him/her if RVP and Shrek ever pass to each other like that?

I do find that these days the smug knowing smile really winds them up the most.

The correct smile actually says, "You know, and I know you know, what the future is going to be like from here on in. This is only a minor indication of everything to come."

And then make sure you greet him/her with the same smile every time you meet or cross paths.

You could even call it a "perceptive smile" to fit in with recent bit here!
