Yet another borefest

i am at a loss to understand the adulation that mancini receives on these pages, for the outlay we look incredibly average.

up until today we have had the lowest amount of shots on goal of any premier league side, we have failed to score in half of our games.

go back to last season both cup competitions were squandered, we barely had shots against the top sides never mind scored, and we threw fourth away when it was in our grasp.

we have spent heavily and yet still have few alternatives up front unless it involves flogging thew wonderful tevez to death.

we have a reluctance to commit bodies forward even when playing teams who barely have a player whom would get on our bench.

and the cagey nature of the football doesnt make for a great spectacle for the vast sums of money we all pay.

i believe we have a wonderful set of players whom are being restricted, and at this point, looking at results it's hard to argue against.
Balotelli hasn't been available to Mancini. Adebayor is injured. Both full backs are injured. In the circumstances we didn't have many options, and most people on Bluemoon predicted we'd start with AJ and SWP on the wings with Tevez or Jo down the middle.

The game started off with City playing some good attacking football, but the goal changed it, and we didn't have enough in the tank to turn it around

We didn't throw it away last season. Mancini inherited an unbalanced squad, and got lumbered with the negative tag because Hughes had a team full of defensive midfielders, and the two attacking midfielders in Robinho and Ireland either wanted out, or couldn't be bothered.

4 League games in with his new squad and only Toure and Milner have really been available.

I am quite happy with the style of football we are playing. The players just need time to get their game flowing. The results will come I am sure of it.

I'm sorry but you can't talk sense on here it's just not allowed! Please refrain from this in the future.

one upfront doesnt work for us. playing yaya in an advanced position doesnt work for us. viera (despite his goal) doesnt work for us.

Were you at the game?
...and if so were you looking at the pitch?

Yaya was playing in a more withdrawn role today...with Milner and then briefly SWP handed the "advanced" midfield role, before game got stretched in 2nd half.

Some people seem to look at the result... and then work backwards to decide if we need to start slagging people off.

I remember when we won 9 or 10 home games on the trot at the start of the season under Sven... but in truth we were not dominating teams... and some of those results were a bit jammy.

With injuries / missed chances / mix-ups in defence etc ... we don't seem to be having much luck at the moment.

...BUT I have no complaints about the quality of the football we are trying to play ... and I don't see how today could be described as a "borefest".

Mancini on today's game.

Hard to disagree

"It was a bad goal to give away, but this can happen in football, and I thought after Sunderland we had stopped giving gifts to our opponents! But I checked after the game and we had 25 chances to score, so we have to be tougher when we are near their goal.

"At the moment the luck is against us, but we know we are a good team so we have to keep working well."

A dead leg ruled Nigel de Jong out and a hamstring strain kept Emmanuel Adebayor away, but the Manager is confident that they should be available for Thursday's Europa League game against FC Salzburg.

"De Jong was injured on Friday with the very last kick of training," Mancini added, "but Adebayor was a week ago but I think they should be OK for the next game."

that wasnt a boring game, we totally dominated, the only reason blackburn got a point was because we gifted it to them. they had one corner and i think that was in the first five minutes. blackburn were a disgrace, they want to learn how to play football cause they werent doing much of it today. paul robinson one long kick upfield to someone, can someone tell me why they have midfield players when they dont use them. and as for the blackburn fans no wonder they dont turn up , would hate having to watch that every week.

I'm not even going to get into Mancini's tactics, which by now should be evident as simply negative. It's his inability to use his bench effectively and his lack of man management skills that worries me. He doesn't talk to his players ffs.

Rag

We might, and I repeat might, win the odd cup under this manager but what we certainly won't do is win the league, this year, next year or any year.

Why are people using blackburns tactics as to why we did'nt win? they play like that against arsenal, ushited, chelsea yet they get beat... Lets look closer to home and the line up and our 'tactics' first.........
